How to copy contacts and calendar info from iphone to mac

Recommended Posts

I recently got a new macbook pro and had my iphone synced with my old iMac.

I erased the HDD or the iMac and installed new snow leopard on it and gave to my dad. I now have my contacts and calendar details still on my iPhone, but how am I able to transfer that onto my new macbook pro and be able to sync with it.

I'm completely stumped. I read around about an option to merge but it looks like on the newest iTunes I don't have the option for a merge feature.

Any help would very muchly apprecaited!

Just plug it into iTunes, check to sync contacts and calendar under the info tab and sync. Open up iCal and calendars app and it should show up. If you're synching media, make sure it's on the new computer so you don't lose anything.

Are you saying it did wiped it clean? Or it will?

Because I just tested it out by deleting all my contacts from my Address Book and syncing it from my iPhone and it transferred all my contacts over. It even gave me a notice that it'll adding my contacts over. I didn't try the calenders but I assumed it would be the same.

If you still have all your stuff, last resort is to sync it with a Gmail, Yahoo, or MobileMe service.

If you lost all your stuff, try restoring from a backup. If you didn't make a backup in iTunes, sorry brother.

yea no it did just clear it all and just on my contact and calendar stuff from the macbook pro which at the moment is nothing.

So I had to restore to when I had them still in. Then I had to use third party app to backup the contacts from my iphone.
