Any idea what's new?
BTW - How do I access the nview thingy again (where you can config transparent windows, etc)? It's not in my "additional properties" tab under display settings.

knoxca on of the ways to access the nview settings is right click your desktop and you should see a new menu entry called nview (at least it's there for me

Thats not like that on mine...
Funny.. I updated from 23.12 to 27.20 and the update went fine except it didn't replace the NVDESK32.DLL file, since under Driver version information it lists all other files as 27.20 except nvdesk32.dll.. Any ideas? Should I update to 27.10 and then 27.20??
BTW - this explains why I can't access the nview settings..
Thanx

I guess you did something wrong, i chose the "dont search for drivers, i will choose the driver to install" option and it worked with these.
The 27.00 drivers are WHQL certified by microsoft and are on the windows update page.

Ok, I've tried each of the three leaks of the 27.xx drivers, and they keep getting better each time!!! So far I've had no lock ups or any freezes, and no infinite loops! Looks like Nvidia, VIA, and XP got things straightened out after those crap 23.11 drivers! Plus the nView settings are really cool. Let's hope once these drivers go official, they'll be even better than they are now!!

Jan 29 2002, 21:22
incase there are people who dont like 27xx's but want nview stuff then heres how to keep them:
1) install 27xx drivers
2) setup nview the way you want it & make sure the option to add nview to normal windows is ON
3) go back to old drivers
the nview settings will stay and you can use pre 27xx drivers and they do support transparent

Whoohoo. I just gotta say, this version sure kicks butt! The performance is great, no crashes, etc. And the transparent effect actually works correctly now. Now it can transparent apps that didn't work under 27.10! Yeah, gotta give nVIDIA some lovin'

how come i never had the WinXP, nVidia and VIA infinite loop error problem ya'll keep talking about. I've tried ever leaked nVidia driver and they all worked fine.. i don't know which one was the best so far cuz i dind't see any noticable difference in the framerates in games or smoother anything but i like having the latest EVERYTHING

so that's why i keep getting them..

I'm about to install these 27.20s (no 26.XX for me) so wish me luck

Jan 30 2002, 05:53
I could be wrong, but from what I saw, most ppl that had the nvidia, XP, VIA infinite loop problems were ppl with the KT266a mobo and a geforce3 video card. I had the probs and that's what I'm using. Anyway, these new drivers, 27.20 are the best for me since 21.83. I LOVE them!
