Well it's already been two days in the making and everything is going according to plan. I've decided to start a thread so users can post comments and feedback during Sleek's development (I've already given it a name ) Its appearance has obviously progressed over the past two days and I've spent about 16 hours working on it so far. Since this is my first time skinning Winamp (or any application for that matter), I'm sure I'll encounter problems along the way. Infact, I already foresee usability issues, like I mentioned in the other thread, because of the design's highly unusual shape. I'm fairly confident now however that I'll be able to work around these issues. I'm well aware of the skin's bulkiness but that cannot be changed now. I'm happy with the shape and size of it and those are just issues I'll have to work around. I can't say for sure when the skin is going to officially be released for download. I will however keep you updated so those of you that are interested in watching it come together may. I'm also looking for more ideas.

My main problem is implementing the skin. I'm also worried about making it any more complex than it already is because I have a strange feeling that the more complicated the design becomes, the more difficult it's going to be to implement. I have absolutely no knowledge with XML. I know very little about winamp's API (Application Programming Interface) so it's going to be a long and rather difficult task. Not bad at all, but I'm not feeling the fonts you used for the time and song title text at all. I really like what you did with the alien though.

For the time being, the skin's dimensions will remain the way they are. I may decide to reduce it's size but this is just an exploration of my skills. To see what I'm capable of.

Nice skin, looks really slick. But on the other hand, it's pretty big.

dont forget in winamp 5 (dunno bout 3) u can change the scaling so if its big at 100% change it to 50%

if you guys didn't notice... winamp let's you shrink and stretch any skin you have for winamp3 and 5... so you can make it as big or as small as you want... so who cares what size he makes it at... that just means it'll be better quality if people want it that big...

That's right. I'd forgot to mention Winamp does enable the user to adjust the player's dimensions. Right now the dimenions are so big because I'm focusing on detail.

Session, it's already been established that Winamp makes it possible for the user to resize the player, therefore making it possible to resize the skin itself. Thanks for the compliments everyone!

Raum, these pictures aren't random and pointless. They help in conveying an alien/mecha theme.

Sorry, but anything that doesn't have a specific function in a winamp skin, i.e. play, pause, show playlist...pointless to me. Still curious about resources too.
