After neowin went down (a little while ago now) alot of things have dissapeard,
I've done a quick search and didn't find how to replace icons from windows, shell32.dll
or how to replace icons from programs (non microsoft programs).
So in request, how do you do it?
Kind regards,
Darkebie.

im pretty sure u can find this is just about any of the shell pack threads its been answered many times.
what programs u will want are:
replacer for replacing the files without going into safemode and it auto backsup the system file
then to change the icons in the shell32.dll etc u will want reshacker as its free. i use restorator as well as reshacker but thats shareware.
google will result in the links to these programs.

Google didn't knew an answer on, how do I know what icon in the shell the icon of a program is.. without browsing a sh!tload of icons
Or do you all browse all icons before you know what to change?

here's a basic list:
http://www.virtualplastic.net/html/hacklist.htmlanother one:
http://virtualplastic.net/msgboard/thread....rum=1&thread=48but browsing might be just as useful. it's tedious, but in the end, you'll have a nice mod. you can also just look for a pre-modded shell32.dll and simply replace.

Get a program call microangelo, use librarian to see what icon you want to change, and use resource hacker to change it, Also if a program has multiple copies of the main icon in it, look for icons starting with letters, then numbers, that's how explorer loads them.
