The Mac OS X Software License Agreement states in Section 2 "Permitted
License Uses and Restrictions" that "This license allows you to install and
use one copy of the Apple Software on a single Apple-labled computer at a
time."

I changed so that the config pointed to disk 2, restarted ppc, and I still get the same message:

I click on "installer" and then "quit installer" but nothing happens.. it just waits for cd2 blink.gif

(translated from swedish: "Put in the CD Mac OS X Install disc 2 and continue installation. You have chosen to install applications that require this disc") sad.gif

come ooon! anyone?

I been trying to fix this the WHOLE day now.. still doesn't work sad.gif realmad.gif

According to the guide, I should be able to quit the installer now when it's asking for CD2.

Why doesn't it just quit the installer when I choose to do so?
It just keeps asking for CD2. mad.gif

I'm going crazy.. cry.gif
Menge
hmmm if i'm not mistaken the dialog asking for cd2 has a "Cancel Installation" button... click it. it'll tell you that you can install those features later on
Dogan
here's the picture again.. the buttons are greyed out. I can click on "Installer" and then "Quit installer", but nothing happens..

I've closed down PPC and rebooted, but it still gets me to this message sad.gif
TheReaperMan
dogan you can click the cancel button to stop the cd2 install

It's greyed out, look at the picture.. (avbryt = cancel) sad.gif
Fozzieb
Dont cancel or abort, use the menu at the top of the screen to quit, then change to config to boot from hard drive rather than iso image.

if that does not boot , go to page 1 and read all the posts again, like we all did.
gamestargrinder
dogan i know this is off topic but i was just listning to bob marley and ure frog thing was dancing to the tune of the song

but i think the problem with the cd2 problem is that he is already to far into the installation, and also i highly recomend using cd2 there is some important stuff on there unless ure using the 3gb hd image
wivelden
This is so cool.
Looking for some game that will run under the emu now.
Anyone got any sites for mac wallpaper and themes?
Thanks
Dogan
Fozzieb - I wrote several time that I've tried that. I click, but nothing happens.

How do I change it so that it'll boot from hd?

a piece of my config:
pci_ide0_master_installed = 1
pci_ide0_master_image = "D:\PearPC\HD-OS-X-Panther-PREP.img"
#pci_ide0_master_type = "hd"

pci_ide0_slave_installed = 0
pci_ide0_slave_image = "D:\PearPC\MacOSX-10.3\macosx1.iso"
pci_ide0_slave_type = "cdrom"

willvg - I'm using the 3gb image.
gamestargrinder
i switched to the 6gb image so i could installed the extra apps and updates otherwise ure going to be using a very basic osx

just noticed that also, mmm, maybe you will have to start again?? and not pic somemore of the stuff no.gif , unless you had cd2 of couse biggrin.gif
TheReaperMan
maybe its the 3gb image??, i used the 6gb one also, is anyone using the 20gb one at all???
Dogan
The wierd thing is that I followed the guide, and it should quit when I choose to do so..
I have CD2 as an .iso, but it's the EXACT same size as CD1. And it brings me to the same dialouge.. hmm.gif
Colin Holywell
Change
CODE
pci_ide0_slave_installed = 0

to
CODE
pci_ide0_slave_installed = 1

Thats why the button is greyed out I think. And to boot from the hard drive image change the prom_bootmethod to
CODE
prom_bootmethod = "select"

That will give you a nice little boot menu which will ask you.
Fozzieb
I'm using the 6gig one (sorry)

where did you get the 20Gig one?
gamestargrinder
i would use the 20gb but my extra hd which is 30 gb is real slow i think 512kb cache. My primary hd is 80gb but if i add anymore to it i would go over the half way point thus slowing windows down. So im just gonna use the 6gb.

Is there anyway to setup in the config file 2 Hard drives and a cd I REALLY WANT THIS
Fozzieb
A little background for PearPC

Thanks, that helped alittle. Now I can change CDs smile.gif

I changed cd to disc 2, and now it's continuing the setup.. installing internet explorer and stuffit. wacko.gif

I've tried to quit the installer now, but the installer said that I was unable to do so, because the programs that are going to be installed now are important.

Thanks for all your help guys smile.gif

This was stated a long time ago. back on page...15 or so.

How about this one?

ei. you must DESTROY the Mac OS X CD's. (Too bad if you borrowed them.)

amr_01
this program is emulating ppc, not osx. if a user wants to install osx with pear, that is their own problem. and they may be in violation of the agreement, but there's nothing wrong with the software. it's perfectly legal to install PPC linux....or others of that sort.

Open a cmd prompt then run it from there.

okay did that, before when I clicked on ppc.bat it disappeared so fast, I couldn't read the message, now I can see it, it says:

[IO/IDE] <Error> test/imgs/linux.img: could not open file (No error)
wivelden
You need to edit that part in the config file to point to your image.

If you already have panther installed, make sure you download the COMBO update 10.3.3! I first downloaded just the 10.3.3 update and got the same message (only in English), because the 10.3.3 update requires 10.3.2 to be installed (I only had 10.3) so once I downloaded and started the 10.3.3 combo, I was good to go.

Edit these values in your config file:

pci_ide0_master_installed = 1
pci_ide0_master_image = "x:\pearpc\HD-OS-X-Panther-PREP.img"
pci_ide0_master_type = "hd"

pci_ide0_slave_installed = 1
pci_ide0_slave_image = "x:\pearpc\custom.iso"
pci_ide0_slave_type = "cdrom"

to point to the right drive.
