how are you guys transferring files from your harddrive to os x?

1) Place all the files you want to put in OS X in a folder
2) Use an ISO creating program to create an ISO out of the folder
3) Redirect "pci_ide0_slave_image" to your newly created ISO

There are other ways, this just works for me

Darn! Should have google for the combo update. I read and re-read the 10.3.3 update saying it needs 10.3.2 and I download that as well, guess I'll d/l the 10.3.3 combo to save time. Updating is a killer!
colordeficiency
Anyway to increase the HD image size after installtion? I don't wanna reinstall everything. And is currently using the 3GB image.
gamestargrinder
these updates (10.3.3) are the same as service packs right

Not sure if you are aware, but there is a thread going on for a PearPC logo

I just saw Fozzieb's background for it & rememberd to drop a line here, you can grab some goodies there or contribut yourselves, or just give your opinion on the works there.

HellBender
I tried installing 10.3 but I'm having some problems.

PPC quit while installing from CD1 saying "Error: Reset!" and when I boot back into PPC, I get an error saying there are no bootable partitions. I'm using the config file and instructions from the Neowin Guides section.

Any idea wahts wrong?
phalanx126
HellBender, it installed correctly but you have to edit the partition tables, go to this site:

http://www.emaculation.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=1102

and start at step 9

Hi folks,

Alright, I've been reading the posts and have heard a couple of people mention their pearpc is hanging at the grey apple screen when booting the OSX installation disk.

I have the same problem.

My config file etc.is good, I have read all the previous posts, and could use any advice you may have...

Hopefully someone out there knows whats going on.

Thanks!
HellBender
dokkta: Open your config file and change the line "pci_ide0_slave_installed = 1" to "pci_ide0_slave_installed = 0" and all your problems will go away.

Phew finally got it working... Too slow to do anything very productive though pinch.gif What can you do on here? 'net doesnt work yet does it? Where ya'll get them wallpapers from?
colordeficiency
Nope, network ain't working on Windows. Yet. It's working fine under Linux though. Are you using the nightly build of PearPC? It's way fast than what was released by the dev.
HellBender
Yeah, I'm using an optimized 5/25 trunk build.

I've been trying different redraw_interval_msec values, and I just set it to 1 and its beautifully smooth smile.gif Takes about 30 seconds for something as simple as sys prefs to come up, but it looks good cool.gif

Again, can I put custom wallpapers on here?
colordeficiency
You must be greedy than. The speed improve is alot since the first release. smile.gif

Well, simple things take a good minute to come up, I can online imagine how long Office would take hmm.gif

Hrm, I dont have to imagine shifty.gif *digs around*
colordeficiency
Yep. Office 2004 is readily avaliable everywhere.

I do not really know if it will work but try this:
1. make a new bigger disc.
2. Mount the new disc as slave.
3. Use the "copy disc" function in OS X

Could work ...

I have download the 20gb hd but in the installer the hd don't want to show up. I think it's because the hd is not formated allready. Does someone know what to do

Bugger.
When I try and enable ICS from my wireless connection I get:

Internet Connection Sharing cannot be enabled.
A LAN Connection is already configured with the IP address that is required for automatic IP addressing.

DAMMIT!!

Anyone know how I fix this?
panoz
Moe: I'm getting the same error message.. very annoying indeed.. pinch.gif

wivelden
SP2 yea?
panoz
moe: noop.. just alter your routers ip to something else than 192.168.0.1.. seems like the ICS is trying to get the same ip thus the problem..

thanks V.. thumbs_up.gif
SAMeAiM
Yeah, just change your routers ip to 192.168.1.1 if it uses the 192.168.0.1 becourse ISC wants the 192.168.0.1 sad.gif

My router's ip is also 192.168.0.1, so i changed it to 192.168.1.1, but i couldnt really get it to work and i dont know why but i was just getting an error while enabling the ISC sad.gif

I'll maby try later rolleyes.gif
Acezo
Anytime happy.gif
I actually had to change the Tap connection's IP address and set "Router" in OS X to that address, so if anyone's having problems with OS X not connecting, try that.

And I can't get OS X to connect with ZoneAlarm open dry.gif It's no problem though.

Hey guys,

yesterday, when I started PearPC, all of a sudden, during booting, I got this message:

So what can I do about it?
I heard this is called Kernel Panic and normally, on a real Mac this is no problem, but PearPC keeps telling me the problem persists, every time I start it.
wivelden
Well I tried everything to ge the networking to work.
I changed my routers IP and it still won't allow ICS.

colordeficiency
It can't be done, as there's the partition table and stuff. It only copy the partition the OS is installed.
panoz
yeah OSX alive and kicking! w00t.gif

TheReaperMan
oh well, looks like i am doing a other install over night then on two the 20gb one then
HaraldBluetooth
Is it not possible to copy the information from a 3 gb drive to a 20 gb drive?
Is there no ‘Partition magic’ around for OS X? OR, could img faked drives be mounted in the PC version? OR, can Ghost be used?
