man this SDL build is pretty fast !! now only if they fix the timing issue ..that will be soo sweet !

And give us sound, full usb & firewire support ......

Am I the only one that the clock in OSX is going crazy?
5 minutes = 1 real minute...
The bouncing animation, progress bar and cursors animations are too fast...

Argh. I'm having this weirdo issue with my PearPC OS X 10.3.4 install. It *used* to be fine; now when I turn it on, the Apple logo comes up, and that thing spins.. forever..

Anyone have networking working in SDL0003? I can't for the life of me figure out why it doesn't work. I go into .2pre works fine, go to SDL 0003, no go

2) can you use it in full screen or are you still limited to 1024x765 windowed.

yes its usable, but i wouldnt use it for everyday use.
yes, it can be made fullscreen (the modded pearpc version)

ARGh, how do you get this sdl thing to work. why did they switch it up!!!! someone please help me, what steps do i need to get it running. i followed the directions on the site and it still doesn't work. here's my config:

so im a little confused and frustrated by this. i've been installing the 10.3.3 combined update for about the 2 to maybe 3 hours and the last hour it has just sat there at "Running installer script, time remaining: 13 minutes" now i remember that that section of the install took a while when installing the actual OS, but can anyone tell me roughly how long this should take?? thank you.

You have to reinstall OSX.

I'm doing this right now on the SDL binary. This time, I chose the UNIX file system instead of the Mac OS Journaled system. This should take some additional load off the PearPC's virtual CPU.

quick question: how do you direct cygwin to the ppcsdl0003 sourse directory so that it will compile?

It is very fast but how about network in that version.

just put the ppcsdl0003 source directory into your c:\cygwin\home\username folder, then all you have to do is "cd ppcsdl0003"

Same as others for me, I set it to DHCP and it worked

you have to set it to a 32Bit res. or maybe it was 16.... try setting it to 4

I had it set to 14 which was based on the old config (1280 x 1024 32bit) but they're removed stuff like the indexed colours etc from the SDL build. Is there a page with the SDL windows binaries?

Ok i am fighting with networking.

It find my network card but i had a problem configure ip,dns....
I use auto dhcp but this did not work. I can't write anything to dns number because my keaybord won't work.
My problem is i can't use keabord , can't write anything.

Maybe someone can even tell us what advantages there are to using the SDL versions say compared to the nightly builds. I have in my version of PearPC networking and fullscreen. I would like at least those. And are those now in the nightly builds. I looked at the changelogs there, but I don't understand all of it.

SDL is far faster for me, the 00003 version as well is super fast for me in comparison to what's gone before, I'm running it in full screen 1600 x 1200 with a bit of lag, 800 or 1024 is actually quite nippy

Ok so I am trying the SDL version now it sure is fast. It is very usable. Only thing I don't like is the resolution problem. Hard to edit out the resolution line when using Tekmaven's PearPCFront Beta 1. But I really like that front end. If there are any work arounds for the resolution please let me know. The SDL is very fast.

Oh and fullscreen would be nice also.

just edit the config file with notepad put a # in front of the line and save it. done!

Yeah but like I was saying I am using the PearPCFront Beta 1. Not really anywhere you can edit or override the selected resolutions. I guess a solution would be not to use the front end. But I really like it lol.

Full screen is in the latest SDL build, hit Shift + F12.

Dang it sure is. Not really a smooth transition though. I thought my monitor was going to blow up lmao.
I got it running in window mode which I think is 800 x 600 can that be changed. I know we commented out the resolution line in the config but it has to get it from somewhere.

Edit: when I tried to restore it from fullscreen to windowed mode, I couldn't get the window out of the taskbar. I gues it froze.

if you commented out the resolution line in the config, you can change the resolution from within OSX to whatever res you want. then go fullscreen as dazz described.

@evacsoul. i did what you said and it doesn't work. could someone outline the steps i should take to get sdl to work. i followed the instructions from the site and they didn't work for me. just for reference, what is different about sdl version and the previous versions that were released. why was the format changed?
