dude i try my best i'm sorry if I ofended u but a least i speak spanish french and italian but who cares about thatt i was just being cool and asking for help
OK, I'm getting hopeless now, I'll finish getting mad or something worse. I already reinstalled Windows today (mainly for some other reasons), but still, I don't get the network thing to work with PearPC. I've been trying it for the whole time that networking has been available for PearPC, but nothing worked.
Maybe, someone can figure out, where the problem lies, so, here's what I have:
This is what is displayed in my Network connections in the Windows XP Control Panel:
LAN section:
My real LAN adapter: LAN Connection IP: 192.168.0.1
Virtual LAN adapter (TAP device): LAN Connection 2 (not connected) IP: 192.168.0.2
LAN device (created by the USB DSL modem): LAN Connection 3 IP: 192.168.0.3
and a 1394 LAN device: 1394 Connection
The first three of the above mentioned play the important role in this tragic networking story.
Now come the other entries I have in my Network connections Control Panel:
Dialup section:
MicroLink ADSL Fun USB (obviously the USB DSL modem, my actual connection to the internet)
Broadband section:
Broadband Connection
I have created a broadband connection for my ISP, which I could easily use instead of the Dialup connection, which is described above.
I could also connect to the internet switching to the LAN device labeled LAN Connection 3 (again, see above), but everything I tried didn't succeed.
Additionally I don't know, on which device I have to enable ICS, because I tried it with all of the entries and it seems that none has been the right one.
So, the essential questions are:
a) Which device do I have to enable ICS on?
b) What are the correct IP addresses and settings?
c) If all of these settings fail, how could I get PearPC connected anyway (i.e. bridging devices or using proxy or something else)?
I beg anyone to help me solving these problems,
otherwise I can't even start PearPC anymore... and I can't live without PearPC without networking support!
THX in advance for any help,
Cyman
PS
If this description doesn't help at all, I'll post a screenshot of my network settings.

You need to enable file sharing on the device that runs your main conection. IE if the usb modem is your connection set it up with ics, it'll then ask you what connection to let it use, choose the TAP driver connection. DOn't manualy set any ips. Let OSX use dhcp. Also make sure you have the right nic enabled with the right mac addy in your pearpc config.
OK, so I reset all the IP's of all the adapters I have in my Windows XP Network connections Control Panel and set ICS to the dialup entry, right?
When I select ICS, I always have to choose the right LAN connection - there are two to choose from, the real onboard 1GBit adapter and the TAP device. Normally I connect my home LAN via the 1GBit LAN (of course), but I suppose I have to choose the TAP device for ICS to make it work with PearPC (which I have done). Anyway, there must be a way that I can use the home LAN at the same time (since I don't have a router). How about the
FreeProxy solution?

ok, i've tried placing the sdl version of the ppc.exe file into my directory along with the .dll. someone over at emaculation said it would work, it didn'. i've tried to compile the source with cygwin, that doesn't work. i'm not sure if this is related, but everytime i extract the source, i get an error saying that it couldn't extract certain files. PLEASE HELP!!!

dl the windows binary
http://www2.wonderwallfriends.de/ppc-sdl.0003.exe and replace the orignal ppc with it. you only need the sdl.dll in the system32 folder. at least it worked for me
Im using the new SDL version and my keyboard is always on capslock... How can I fix this?

Almost there!
Using the nightly P4 custom build.
OK,
I tried starting the emulator the conservative way, via the command prompt and this is the error message I receive:
Quote -
[CPU/MMU]new pagetable: sdr1 = 0x00300003
[CPU/MMU] new pagetable: sdr1 accepted
[CPU/MMU] number of pages: 2^15 pagetable_start: 0x00300000 size: 2^18
cannot find boot file.
It seems this has nothing to do with network...

I am really worry bout my processor, everything I have PearPC running it sounds a little 'dead'? Is there any harmful effect that it's gonna do to my P4 2GHz? Is any of your PC blown using PearPC?
PS I'm using stock fan too.

That is damn slow considering the whole install takes less then 20 minutes on my G3.

Using for CPU at 100% for long periods of time makes the CPU get a lot hotter then normal, it will probably crash or shut off it gets too hot. A better fan might be a good idea.

What do you mean when you say it sounds dead?
Is your computer bogged down, if so it is because PPC is going to pretty much use all your resources.
I can't imagine that it will do any damage to your processor, you might want to use some gel.

You need to comment this out in your config file
Quote -
#ppc_start_resolution = 5
and this
Quote -
#fs_refresh_rate = 60
the "#" is commenting it out
Then fire it up and all will work fine.
It would be nice if PearPC would make the same sound that Apple computers do when they boot!

Edit : If you dont know what I'm talking about here's the sound

I am sure sound and all the other "little things" will be implemented in time.

Yeah, that makes sense now =>
Downloads:
PearPC sdl.0003 Source
PearPC sdl.0003 Windows binary (SDL library)(SDL library) is actually a seperate download link to

i replaced the old ppc file with the new sdl version and the sdl.dll file is IN my pearpc directory. when i go to run ppc in the command prompt, i get this:
d:\pearpc>ppc goodconfig.cfg
i press enter, and i get this...
d:\pearpc>
that's it, it doesn't run or anything. i renamed the ppc-sdl.0003 files to just ppc, could this be the problem. here is my config file
#ppc_start_resolution = 4
fs_refresh_rate = 60
redraw_interval_msec = 40

did you change these lines to match what youre using?
pci_ide0_master_image = "D:\pearpc\HD-OS-X-Panther-PREP.img"
pci_ide0_slave_image = "D:\pearpc\OSX_CD1.iso"
might want to remove select from this line prom_bootmethod = "select" to just "". i changed it so i can choose if i want to boot from the hdd image or like a cd image
i've only change those, the ram, the resolution (put a # so can change resolutions in osx with sdl build. if youre not using the sdl build, remove the # from line #ppc_start_resolution = 7). the rest is the same as the one from emon's guide.

if anyones interested i'm making a visual step by step tutorila on how to Make your own hard drive image in the size of your choice, partition, install, and configure networking. Taking a while to snap then put together. Lemme know if it's all in vain, 'cause I don't want to waste my time on it if so.

OK I am going to try to help. Lets go over some of the simple things first. Make sure PearPC is in a directory like C:/PearPC and not in a bunch of subdirectories. Ok then make sure your HD image and iso file are named correctly in your config file. As far as my boot method I use "prom_bootmethod = "select"". If any of these suggestions don't help. Please post your config file.
Thanks
