Nearly running at 1GHZ.
Can't get internet to work because it keeps bumping my wireless connection out when I bridge the two connections.
New build is very fast though.
Still a little slugish but its coming on really well.

I've noticed that the "ppc_start_resolution = 8" setting sets a resolution of 1600x1200 in the SDL build, you might want to change that to something lower.

What kind of processor do you have for PearPC to display such a high clockspeed?

Booted up twice on my P4 2.4GHz laptop, and it shows up as a 700MHz G3. Although it's definitely not really that fast, this build shows some noticeable speed improvements over the last one.
Good stuff
on my XP1800+ i get a 533Mhz G3

anyone noticed how anything animating onscreen takes deteriorates the performance of the emu? like when starting an app, if you hide the dock, the app starts MUCH faster because there's no icon bouncing on the dock

well i've managed to boot w/nic, but it isn't being recognize by OS X. The XP shows an active connection, and the DOS shows it is reciveing but not being filtered?
[IO/3c90x] indicate(00000010) mIntStatus now = 00000000
[IO/3c90x] acknowledge(00000010) mIntStatus now = 00000000
[IO/3c90x] EthTun: 250 bytes received. But they don't pass the filter.
[IO/3c90x] Not uploading, because: mUpStalled(=0) or UpListPtr == 0 (=00000000)
or not mRxPacketSize(=0)
Also the new build of pre.3 is slower than the one yesterday, so could someone send it to me?

p4 3.25ghz HT shows up as 950mhz g3

running better than b3fore now..but the mouse is still alittle wacky in the sdl and i still cant get no internet, if i set it up manually, it connects but no surfing

I love the direction PearPC is taking, the new build is great. LOL I sometimes find myself just browsing the internet on safari just treating it like normal internet. Very nice build indeed
when pear pc gets to version 1
what happens then?

You stole
my idea!

By the way, what are the keystrokes to get full-screen in the "other" build? I'm talking about the one that has right-click enabled. Shift-F12 doesn't work on that one.Never mind. Got it. It's "F5".

so i havent gotten the green light networking problem fixed
one think i have noticed is that
if u are running ure comp at 3-3.2 ghz pearpc shows around 900-950 mhz
If u r running 1.8 ghz like i am it will show 533 mhz
BUT remember with macs the speed is doubled to equal that of an intel processor
so if ure running 533 mhz on pearpc that is actually 1066mhz
What do you mean with the thing about doubled speed?

the amount of memory seems to affect the proc. speed. With 128 ram it shows approx. 950mhz, but with 256mb it shows 750mhz

u sure i always heard that with the power pc processor that speed is doubled. Lets say u have an imac that is 200mhz that would be equal to a 400mhz pentium x processor. I really dont know if its true. But i read something about it in some Mac magazine

wow, networking in panther just wouldn't work with the old sdl builds, now it does, just by using .03 pre. one thing tho, i still am not able to change my resolution! i'm stuck in 800x600, someone please gimme a couple of suggestions! here's my config:
#ppc_start_resolution = 5
#fs_refresh_rate = 60
redraw_interval_msec = 40
prom_bootmethod = "select"
prom_env_bootargs = ""
prom_env_machargs = ""
#prom_driver_graphic = "video.x"
memory_size=0x10000000
pci_ide0_master_installed = 1
pci_ide0_master_image = "macosx_6gb_unjournaled.img"
pci_ide0_master_type = "hd"
pci_ide0_slave_installed = 1
pci_ide0_slave_image = "macosx.iso"
pci_ide0_slave_type = "cdrom"
pci_rtl8139_installed = 1
pci_rtl8139_mac = "de:ad:ca:fe:12:83"
pci_usb_installed = 1
nvram_file = "nvram"
in the new SDL you can't change your resolution yet they are working on it.

Is it normal to have to reinstall OSX after overwriting the old ppc executable with this new SDL build? (no configs touched here)
I'm asking because that's what I've had to do. I copied over sdl.dll and the new ppc 0.3pre SDL newclock blah blah blah, launched it, but it didn't see my already existing OSX installation from my PantherImage.img. So now I'm reinstalling it.
Is this normal? I'm not THAT upset since it's only taking 30-60 minutes (so far) on a new installation rather than 2-3 hours as before, but it sucks that I have to redownload and reinstall everything I had prior.
i didnt have to resintall

Were you overwriting the JITC version? I was, and maybe that's the problem. Ah well.
ive been replacing the pcc.exes since the begining and no problems
All I do when there's a new build is make a new folder, copy my config file and change the .bat file I use for PearPC. That way if I ever wanna switch builds because of something I can just change the .bat file back.

I save the build EXE's with their original filenames. For example, my PearPC shortcut on the desktop refers to "d:\PearPC\ppc.pre03.sdl.win32clock.exe osxconfig.txt" and I have had zero problems trying newer builds.

Phalanx, how is your Windows network setup? Bridge or just Internet Connection Sharing?
Also, for anyone else who knows this: what is the latest version of Azureus that works on OSX? 2.1 and 2.084 both failed. I downloaded the Mac OS X .DMG files from Sourceforge. Should I get the generic java versions instead?

Jun 14 2004, 06:46
Oh check this out! File Sharing between the PearPC and the host works again!! Just remove the Bridge and go back to using Internet Connection Sharing (ICS).
You'll want to setup a new password-protected user called "filesharing" in Windows. Make this user an administrator. You can substitute "filesharing" with whatever you like, as long as the user is assigned a password.
Now, share your folders from Windows, then in PearPC go to smb://192.168.0.101 (substitute your computer's local IP address). Authenticate with your "filesharing" username and password. Mount the desired shared folder, and Presto! You're set to go. Move files in and out of the Mac with ease.
I can't wait to get hold of a copy of Panther so I can try this out.

I had an old PPC9500 withj a G3-250 upgrade in it, that I loaded 10.0 on when it first came out. I would say that it is at least as fast as that: Useabel, still slow BY TODAY'S G5 STANARDS! That said, it is useable the same way a 2-300MHz pc running Win95-98 is useable.
I have a 2.5GHz PC with 512MB RAM and WinXP Pro
