10. Go into your config file and change the "prom_env_machargs" to read "-s". Thats SMALL s, not capital s. Obviously if the line is commented out, remove the # so it works. Boot the machine from the CD again as before. This eventually leaves you with the shell/command prompt, and we're about to tackle the job that Darwin would've been used for if it were needed. Type "pdisk" to start the partition tool.
11. Type "e" (without quote marks) then hit enter.
12. For name of device enter "/dev/disk0". Again, no quote marks.
13. Press "p" to view the partition table. The 3rd one actually needs to be moved up to 2 to make it bootable. So...
14. Press "r" to go into partition reordering mode.
15. Enter the number of that partition (3).
16. Enter 2 to move it to the second position.
17. Hit w to write the partition table, check it using p again if you want to confirm it is all okay.
18. Hit q to quit, then hit it again.q. Type reboot which will close PearPC.
19. Go into the config file and comment out the "prom_env_machargs", which will leave the standard mac bootup screen rather than the verbose mode when you now restart PearPC.

It feels like a P200-300 running XP with all it's effects on, so it's sluggish, but not unbearable. And no it doesn't take 3 seconds for the cursor to move, it's instant for me, I've allocated 512mb for PearPC as well. I've installed a few themes, installed Windowshade X and just installed iTunes 4.5:

i tried to apply the 10.3.3 Combo Update, and it failed while doing so. Now when i try to load OSX i just get the grey screen with the apple logo, and the spinning thing. It used to take only a few seconds on that screen, now i have left it for more then 15min with nothing.

looks like i am going to have to start over again.

WHOA. Ok. I noticed that everyone has a "Change CD" button in their output window and I must honestly admit that I lack such a visible clickable object. In other words, my ENTIRE output window is blank! Nothin there! I can click where that "Change CD" button ought to be, and a dialog box will pop up. However, I can't see the button that I'm clicking on. Any thoughts? Furthermore there is never any output even though there should be, in either darwin or os x.

I am running it on an Athlon XP 1900+ with 512MB of ram. The mouse runs perfectly, it moves instantly. I can open programs and do everything else...somethings just take a little while to load, no big deal.
Cool, thanks a lot for the info.

Well so far i've had very little trouble. No crashes yet at all today. Installed on two systems to see what difference would be like.
Both are 3ghz with xp profesional. One however has 1 gb with 512 dedicated to os install, while the other has 2gb with 1gb dedicated to os install. The increase in memory increased productivity around 20-30 % from what i can tell. Set redraw rate at 120 and so far so good. Doesn't take nearly as long to install stuff on the unit with 1 gig ram. *tried a copy of MS OFFICE students and teachers edition*.
what is the hex number for 215meg of ram......

Just download them from Apple.com, to create an Iso I just use Nero to burn to an image recorder and choose .iso as file type. Sound doesn't work so iTunes is a bit pointless but I just wanted to check it out.

Nero didn't burn dmg files. I just created a new compilation, dumped the .dmg files along with other stuff on it, chose image recorder, chose .iso as the format. That's it. My config is nothing special.

make sure you don't have # next to that line since that comments it out
also I'm trying out the Trunk (0.2pre) build, seems ok can't really see a big speed difference
