Has anyone tried out the new diNovo Cordless Desktop? I'm thinking about getting one for $115 at Amazon for my laptop.
My plan is to use the diNovo keyboard and media pad along with my MX1000 at home, and diNovo media pad and minimouse on the go. It comes with cases for both the minimouse and media pad, and has a little dongle reciever instead of a whole dock.
The diNovo Cordless Desktop costs less too.

What color does this actually look like in real life? It looks like a blue/green in most of the pictures, but in some it looks kind of black and I just want to know what color it is.
Also, do you know if SetPoint 2.22 is compatible with Outlook 2003?

is that DiNovo 2 actually proper layout? without the "\ and | key" over where the shift is supposed to be? because I hit the shift too far right to justify re-learning the keybnoard so I can hit the shift key at the far left, not the far left.

The key is already in the correct position.... Dazzla is in the UK, hence having a UK layout Keyboard. The US version will have the keys in the same position you are used to.
Edit: The picture on the box in the first post is the US layout of the keyboard, Dazzla's pic further down shows the UK layout.

Tell us how you like it when you get it!

Also, how is the range on it? Since it's RF, I'm not expecting a whole lot, but I'm wondering if the Media Pad will work from the 8' or so across my room.
Also, the diNovo Cordless Desktop is currently $118.53 and the diNovo Media Desktop is currently $153.00 at Amazon. Both have free shipping.

would prefer to use MS BT stack
posted about a month ago.
I've found that Setpoint 2.22 includes some drivers that should in theory work with/use the Microsoft Bluetooth stack rather than the Widcomm stack.
In the folder C:\Program Files\Logitech\SetPoint\Drivers\Win2K_XP\ ,
the files lRcvBthK.inf and lrcvusbk.cat are a WHQL signed bluetooth driver using the MS stack.
So far I've only been able to install them after installing the Widcomm stack and updating the bluetooth device in the device manager, I wish this was not nessacary but I have yet to find another sucessfull way to install this driver.
Perhaps someone smarter than me will have some luck.
great review!
i was just wondering if you can hook that wireless mouse up as well as a regular corded mouse
why? because i wanna play games with the regular mouse......

Has time been kind to this keyboard?
Fading of key characters, keys still have the same feel, easy to clean?
SonComet
Dec 28 2004, 04:00
Had mine since the middle of june, and its still very clean and good for me. The keys aren't faded at all. A couple of the keys(back space) have this weird spring sound/feel sometimes (discussed earlier in here), but its very rare and happened when it was brand new aswell. I see myself replacing this during summer 2005 just cause I will be way bored of it by then and something better might be out by then. As of right now there is nothing I would replace this keyboard with.

2.0
That's the only marketing difference I can see.

bind them to alt-fwd and alt-back, that's what all modern browsers use as the forward and back shortcuts

Well the problems only occur when the logitec software is running
1) the scroll wheel doesn't work (to open links in new tabs)
2) the go button on the keyboard doesn't work
3) the back/forward buttons on the mouse don't work
if u find a fix for it plz let me know

thnx
P.S.
I have no problems with IE

In the setpoint software, change the buttons to "generic button" and that'll fix the issue with firefox. This also fixed the inability to use the buttons in games.
Why do you have 3 mouses [mice?] ?

damn, I guess I got the older version since it doesn't say 2.0 on the box.
Well I've got my Dinovo now all because of this review. It's a fantastic keyboard but the only thing that bothers me is that when using the calculator on the media pad there is no backspace key if you misype a number. grrrrr such a small feature left out
is there a black/silver ver coming out? this navy blue wont match my dell screens/speakers or tower
I wouldn't really call the colour navy blue, it's more of a light charcoal grey on mine with a black rest for your wrists
..Vector..
Jan 3 2005, 14:47
Mine is a dark grey with a small touch of a greeny/blue shine to it
Maybe this is an odd question...
But can anyone who has the US version report what the power supply says? Is it just 110v, Or does it say like 110-240? I'm tired of having things that I'll have to sell or buy some stupid volt adapter for when I move to the UK.

As I remember, they are only marketing it as 2.0 outside of the US. Inside the US, it's just called the diNovo Media Desktop.

I just bought me a diNovo Setup, and i want to return it already.
Yeah she looks pretty slick, is smooth to use but the amount of hang-ups in its operation are unforgivable at $300AU.
I put off buying a cordless keyboard and mouse kit because i thought it wouldn't match the performance of my MX510 and Elite set up, i was right too. The mouse is downright sluggish in comparison and the keyboard will just miss keypresses during typing, in my view making it instantly useless. The cruise buttons stick on sometimes if they decide to work at all that time you start up. Easy fixed with the 52mb download of setpoint 2.22 you may say, but with a 28kbps connection i am looking at a 12 hour download, Yay!
The media program is a joke with no fast forward/rewind (let alone slider control) or playlist capabilities, and a lack of a backlight on the LCD is just plane stupid. The bluetooth Hub does not work with the software provided (some MS stack problem, i dunno i bought it cause it looks cool). A major heartbreak especially as i need it to sync my Motorola E-398 (moby phone).
oh and the pic on the back of the box shows the mouse on a glass desktop, hmmm, maybe i just trust my eyes too much cause the curser wont even on white laminate, so it is time to crack out that mouse pad that came with your 486i.
All in all, a S--t house effort by logitech

The majority of those things you mentioned are sorted with Setpooint 2.22. Can't you get a friend to download it and put it on CD or something? All the stuff like the bluetooth problems, cruise button etc aren't an issue.
The one thing I agree with is that the Media Pad would've been quality with a backlit LCD.
Hey peeps, ive seem to stumble on a problem with the software for the dinovo. Everything worked perfectly when i did my first time installation on setpoint 2.22. I wanted to see what it would be like to use the MS bt stack instead of the wincomm so i followed post #266 and updated the bt hub driver with those certified drivers. After that nothing worked so i decided to uninstall everything and go back to using the original wincomm stack that came with 2.22. Now i cant get the wincomm stack to install the drivers for the kb and mouse as it does not even detect anything. atm im using my dinovo setup with setpoint 2.22 but without the wincomm stack. does anyone know how i can fix this? I have disabled the ms bt stack in services.
Thanks
**sorry i meant widcomm
Dont worry peeps ive fixed it
