I'm thinking of setting up a 32 player CS:S server. Is there any kind of demand for something like that here? I was monitoring the one linked on the first post, and it stays pretty busy from what I can tell.

Looking at a few different providers. Probably wouldn't go with one of those server rental sites as they charge an arm and a leg (for obvious reasons, of course).

i've got my own dedicated CS:Source server up it's only supporting 10 players right now, because of bandwidth needs, but if anybody is willing to help me test it, post here or send me a pm

my dedicated server is at 12.218.115.101:27015, no password and only supports 8 players for now, i'll probably bump that up as i get more people to help me test the load on the server

I'm looking at a server that would run off some pretty high quality bandwidth and have 1.8 terrabytes of bandwidth at its disposal.

Though if anybody wants to go into this as a partnership and share the server and admining, let me know. I'm looking at a 1.3GHz Celeron with 512MB RAM which wouldn't set me back too bad and should run CS:S pretty well.

it should be back up now, i took it down for a bit to defrag the machine, and do some other smalll touches to try and speed the machine up, just in case, i really need to see what she's like under a full load (of 8) in terms of ping and machine useage, does anybody know of a good system stats loggin program?

edit: i've found some cutoms maps like assualt and inferno if you guys want to test those out too

Oh and btw, you need HL2 retail or steam (with counter strike source) or just counter strike source (from steam, as a standalone) to play on cs:source servers

For CS 1.6 servers you need CS 1.6, wont work with source
