i know this very well:) but what is the point of having a AIO ISO if you are not able to burn it???
The original ISO was burnable onto a CD. This new one is only burnable onto a blank DVD which can hold 4.7GB of data.

Does anyone know if it is possible to do this on Mac office? At my work we run windows and mac... the windows one worked perfect...so thanks! Now any help on being able to do it with a mac would be sweet. Thanks...
I added some notes to the bottom of the guide..
Regarding All In One (AIO) CD's:
Neither I, nor Microsoft, distribute or endorse AIO CD's. I don't have the program to make them either, so stop asking

But... if you're going to slipstream Service Pack 1, you need to do it to an installation medium that has not been modified (i.e. the original CD's).
The AIO CD (as far as I can see) will not fit onto a single CD and will need to either be mounted via a virtual drive or burned to a DVD.

Anybody looking for the AIO Maker please PM me as it some people are obviously tagging it as warez so lets just do it over PM

I dunno why anyone would classify it as warez for. Any decent iso creation program or burner software that supports optimizing the layout will work. Just need to make an autorun front end for it. Lots of legally free software to do it.

Some people just complained about the AIO Maker so it anybody wants it they can just PM me and I usually get back to them in under a day. PM'ing me your email address makes it so much faster...
I agree its not warez because all it does it compress the already 5 cds people have (legit or not) to a smaller size and into one CD/DVD. I just do the PM system to keep people on this thread happy

Hey. I got a legal copy of Office 2003 Student and Teacher Edition recently and not only do I want to slipstream SP1 onto it, I would like to add some of the other updates and add-ons as well. Anyone know what to do here?

Blast it, this sucks. I tried doing this with my Student and Teacher Edition and I can't copy the files, in which an error message displayed saying it only works with the Enterprise Edition. Too bad there isn't a way to bypass this bug.
As I stated in PM to Webgraph, this is for anyone else wondering: You can't slipstream updates to the lower end editions.

Cheers for ending my hours of googling on that matter.
Anyone know the changes made to Office SP1? Specially in relation to Word?

todd` update the first post would you? with information detailing how to you can't do the slipstreaming to the low end copies and also that link with changes on?
Cheers for the updates as well. I am working on the AIO maker situation.
I wasn't able to slipstream, due to it not finding the installer or something like that. I did manage to fix the 1327 error I've been getting though, now I'm on SP1.

I'll probably update a little tomorrow. I've got a paper to write today for school.
Hey everyone,
I found this guide at another location, and it worked great for me.
I just have one question. When you follow this procedure, you loose the ability to cache the installation files for future updates. I'd still like to be able to do this since I'm using a laptop and I don't always have my install CD with me.
Thanks in advance!

If I remember correctly it does cache the files somewhere and asks you at the end of the installation if you want to delete them or not. I need to check that but...
I have tried installing Office straight from the source CD, where I get a dialogue asking if I want to check the web for additional updates and to cache the installation files.
When I try to use the slipstreamed version, only the option to check for updates is available.

How about when you don't slipstream Service Pack 1 and install all the updates using the standalone .exe files? Do the options come up then..
If I don't slipstream SP1, then in the original Office setup screen, I get the option to cache the installation files.
After that, I can apply any hotfixes I want just fine.

I think thats what your going to have to do again. I will test my Office SP1 install later and check what options I get.
Just updated the guide with another note and some prerequisites. Better late than never

i noticed an error in the project guide
the files are extracted to Project2003SP1 yet in the run command u specify ProjectSP1 which causes the update not to work. Might be worth checking the others

HELP A LAMER, PLEASE
What am I missing? The slipstream worked perfectly! Thanks for the tutorial. I think I need to know the write settings for Roxio to burn the CD. I seem to be having long filename issues. Yes, I followed the instructions above including the shortfilenames=true command. I then followed steps from burning a Windows XP SP2 Slipstream using Roxio (relative to burn settings). The CD burnt, but no joy during installation. It comes up with missing file errors and won't continue.
I have googled a bunch, and I seem to be the only one missing something. Help is much appreciated!

This guide is only for slipstreaming Service Pack 1 updates into Office 2003 with no Service Pack. I'm sorry I am not completely following what you are trying to do here? Slipstream office into your XP Unattended CD maybe but we this guide is not for that matter. May I suggest trying to use Nero instead of Roxio for the matter of burning the CD/CD's as I find nero to never have a problem with filename lenghts but I am only talking about Office here.

Just to clarify - the windows xp reference was just another slipstreaming process I followed and I know windows has some of the file name issues as office, so i tried to use those same burn settings.
Thanks for the quick response. I am slipstreaming office, but it barked about path depths, etc. I tried again with UDF format and all other settings the same as before. It worked this time.
All is well now.
