Shardie
Thanx Anormal

whats up with themexp.org anyway??
lawtai
I can host your reflections theme for a bit till you can get it up on themexp if you would like.
Shardie
lawtai dunno y ye got slow download speed cos we got 128k lines. Anyone else having slow downloads???
Mark Otto
yeah im getting crappy speed and ur softimage is good stuff too- i like blue and gray the best.
lawtai
i'm currently dling at 900 bps, could you be using your bandwith on other stuff or have some sort of an upload cap?
mr_daemon
Well, i'm doing around 35k/s

Which is higher than my own upload speed. And I must be masochist to run my website off my own server with that crappy connection.
lawtai
it's a great theme, but the orange that you're using seems somewhat out of place in all the blue. Just my opinion though.
Shardie
You can download my themes from THEMEXP.ORG as well (Just do a search for SOFTIMAGE or REFLECTIONS

Glad ye like the themes though....... lemme know if ye catch any bugs

Great work on both of those. Neither are my person style for a theme, but that doesn't take away from the fact they are well-made =P Keep up the good work.
Shardie
Thanks amoeba
Shardie

Thanx...... Lemme know.
DeathLace
Nice theme man, congrats.
pulp
very nice theme, and btw kareemah is a female name smile.gif
Vinh
nice wallpaper
nemo
i like it. i like the mix of the watercolor in it with different colors. i just think that the inactive titlebar could be changed a bit... good work tho smile.gif
Shardie
Hey pulp....Ye Kareemah is a females name (My wifes actually).

Comes from the Arabic root word Karuma (K-R-M) meaning Noble.

On the Arabic "scale" it means "He was noble" for the female it is Karumat ("She was noble") Kareemah is the doer of the action (hence Noble) therefore Kareemah is a Noble Person....and she is.

:-) Just some Arabic Grammar for you.

Thanks - the wallpape can be downloaded from my website:

http://www.imagehouse.co.za (The Funstuff section) or it comes with the Reflections theme.

i like this theme smile.gif

there are a few things i would like point out that might need a little work (or are personal preferences smile.gif )

-i would ditch the drop shadow on the title bars. it makes the inactive title bar almost impossible to read with the colors you have chosen. if not get rid of the drop shadow, at least lessen the offset by a considerable amount so you still have the shadow, but text is easier to read.

-this is a personal preference on my part, but i like the titles to be centered on the titlebar. i just think it looks a little better smile.gif

-on the all sub-menus on the startmenu, you have a blue border on the left. would it be possible to either make the entire menu a gradient or all one color? again just a personal preference smile.gif

-the orange/pink highlights could stand to be changed to a different color. i am not sure that the color goes with the rest of the theme

those are the only things i that i have noticed so far. i do not mean to be critical, i am just pointing out things for you and suggesting possible improvements smile.gif

First of all thanx for using my theme. I really appreciate the USEFULL suggestions. I will take your suggestions into consideration - the centrerd text (a definite), the drop shadow ( i know does need some attention, the blue border on the start menus (i had a fade but it looks stronger without the fade (:-) that stays - sorry), the orange (i had to add introduce another colour - contrasting one so i chose orange. I think that colur works for me and many others.......it also had to be a strong colour so thats it.....

Thanks again

mmmm i know the screenshot is small but i wanted to get the whole theme in as a complete design - not just the title bars and a button like in the Appearence window. Also showing the wallpaper.....

Did you download the theme??
deep_sky
yep i downloaded it and used it for a few hours of normal use to see what the style was like. otherwise it would be hard to get a good feel for what it's like.

on the orange issue, for me it looks sort of pink, rather than a definite orange ( i don't know about other people, and it may just be my monitor that makes it look pink toned) so thats why i made a mention of it. for example, if i have a trillian window selected the button on the taskbar shows up a light blue. when i get messaged, then it starts flashing orangish-pink. this color combination did not work for me, so that is why it stood out so strongly for me. if the orange was little more towards red then it would not be so "problematic" for me smile.gif

as to the left border on menus, its really not a problem so much as a preference and since you are are the creator of the theme, if you say it stays then it stays. like i said, its just a preference smile.gif

anyways, i will be looking forward to future updates of this theme.

keep up the good work.

wow thanks for the screenshot.........THE THEME HAS BEEN UPDATED AS WELL.

YOU CAN GET IT AT THEMEXP.ORG

LEMME KNOW WHAT YE THINK.
deep_sky
alright checked it out-

much better job on the drop shadow, the text is nice and legible on active and inactive windows. i also like the centering and the size of the text. the resizing of the min/max/close buttons also makes much sense with the whole theme.

i dont think i noticed this before, but i really like the drop-shadowing effect when you mouse-over an entry in the submenus of the start menu. If you could do that on all menus that would be even cooler. dunno if this is possible and if it isnt, then thats cool.

the things i still think could use some work:

-the text of the user in the start menu and the start text could stand to be changed. perhaps a special font for that?

-i know you like that orangish color, but if it was more orange and less pink i think it would contrast better.

-the mouseover color of the programs on the task bar should perhaps match the color on the start menu rather than being a little bit lighter and bluer.
Shardie
Aight....

hmmm.. the drop shadows on other menus cant be done (maybe Windows Blinds - but lets no go there).

The font on the start menu will change (ive got mine in ARABIC so as soon as i find a good ICON theme to go with the whole theme ill change the font to match the icon set - everything must complement each other...

the orange is ORANGE - believe me (not even close to pink). The orange also goes with the wallpaper which has some warm colours in it. No other colour will be better here. :-)

mouseover on taskbar (debatable) I was thinking of making the buttons white on mouseover therefore to keep cosistancy the mouseover on the taskbar might also have to be white.....still debating (maybe some feedback from others).

Well all that said i will update more things as i see it. Im still tesing it with a wide variety of software and also trying to make it smaller. but thats about it for now.

will update in the week.....as i get more request & bug reports from people.

What icon set do you suggest???
Porkey

Shardie
mmm sorry man...i dont use winamp. nh i dont think so.
