For some odd reason, rars will not extract on my girlfriend's Ibook. Is there any other program (not including stuffit expander) that extracts rar files on a mac?

This is what you need.

rarsoft.com , get the official mac app. it has no gui but it's easy to use.

./Applications/rar x filenamehere.rar

in terminal

Gumby.... it's the best all in one apps i've ever seen.

Search for it on versiontracker... it can handle a lot of file formats... and do a lot of tasks...

Don't forget MacPar Deluxe, which is also a Par file utility (actually, that's it's main job, the Rar extracting is just it's hobby).

Yeah, I'd recommend MacPar aswell.
