When I got my apple I got 512 by default which I think apple made a mistake there, but anyways is it worthy to get another 512Ram?

Second question, how can I erase a CD-RW to windows format so I can download software in uni and burn into CD-RW then use it at home.

Steve
RAM? Depends on your usage buddy. What Apps are you using mostly? Does the system appear to slow down substantially after you've launched your commonly used Apps after a fresh login?

CD-RW? I'd say you could do it from Disc Utility / Select Volume / 'Erase' / 'Volume Format' Menu. Don't quote me on it, i don't have any CD-RW's... Do you have Toast?
JeanLogic
U can do it with Toast...

Thanks guys.

Yes I have Toast, but it will only erase the cd to HFV, and the computer in my uni can't recognize the format.

From the Toast Help

1. Insert the disc into the recorder.
2. Choose Recorder > Erase
- If you want to erase the disc quickly and you do not mind that this disc will be usable only by Toast (or Jam), click Quick Erase.
- If you want to erase the disc so that it can be used anywhere, click Erase.
3. To erase the disc, click OK.

Now, I don't use CD-RW's (totally useless to me, don't see the point) so I can't try this, and you haven't told us what methods or anything that you've used to erase within Toast. Just trying to get some more info to help you out.

And I don't think Apple messed up on giving you 512MB RAM, unless you ordered more with the product. That's what they offer. What Mac do you have? They have have put in 2x256 or 1x512, depending on the machine. This will help us determine how much more RAM you can put in or if you have to make room for more. Example: PB's come with 2x256 unless otherwise specified, so to put in more ram, you have to remove one (or both) of the original modules.

I thought I made a mistake...

I meant apple gave me 512 on one slot by mistake, instead of they gave me 512 by mistake.

I have PB 15" 1.5G
