i want to wipe out and reformat my mac and not install any extras or anything (ie beyond disc 1) cause i need the space
if i back up my /users/colin folder and my apps folder, can i just drop these back in and be good to go?
That's what I always do. Don't think you'll run in to any problems.

I just did this today, I didnt install anything but the Base System. I even left out the BSD Subsystem (although I might need to install it soon.)
