I installed the Omega versions of ATI's drivers and I can't believe how much of a performance boost I gained! Doom 3 runs so much smoother. Has snyone else tried these?

Yep, there fast.
The DNA drivers beated them though, untill the latest release. Worlds first drivers that support Ati's new A.I.!
With them I finally got 10000 marks in the 2001 version, with a 9600.

I take it back!
I had texture corruption in Silent Hill 3 and Doom 3 with the newest beta (!) drivers.

I almost had a heart attack because of that, if you don't know why, check my tread:

Did I damaged my card with overclocking?

I had the same artifacts in the games with my bad videocard!
I thought that I messed up my new card too, and that I need to buy a new one again! wacko.gif

The DNA drivers are much more reliable. Believe me. wink.gif

for some UNGODLY reason, i get better FPS results from HP's stock video card drivers than I do with the Omega's. I have a IGP 345M in my notebook, granted it's not a gaming card AT ALL, but i thought these were supposed to rock over stock driver's....guess not

I'm a bit cynical about modded drivers. What is it that people like Omega actually do to them? Is it just tweaking settings, because unless the actual driver code is modified, I can't really see why they are so much better. Also, are they any less stable? Someone convince me! smile.gif

Afaik they just edit registry settings for values like mipmap levels, there are no actual code changes. This is all possible manually, it would be nice to know what these guys tweaked so we could do it ourselves to latest betas smile.gif
