My boss just bought a Nokia 6230 and when he gets an incomming call, it doesn't show the callers ID. It just says, "call," and if he misses a call, then looks at his missed calls, that missed call doesn't have any number, so he can't ring them back.

Being a business man and owning his own pub, he needs to know who's calling, when.

So does anyone have any idea's on how to fix this problem?
Any help is very much appreciated! wink.gif

yeh caller id has to be enabled through his service provider...

In the UK; caller ID is always there, you get it... I get it on my 6230 wink.gif

I don't suppose the person calling him had their number witheld, but I guess he'd have tried calling it from other numbers...

Yeah that's what I first thought was happening, but we called it from a few numbers that I know aren't blocked and it still didn't display caller ID. Does any software come with the phone, cause maybe he needs to install/update that...?

Thanks for ya help so far guys!

You get the PC Suite desktop software for the phone, to install non-essential things to install onto the phone, backups etc. You cannot 'flash' anything important (i.e. an updated OS etc.) without special kit. You could take it to a Nokia Service centre, tell them the problem. If they were to feel a firmware update was necessary, most usually do it free there and then.

I just don't know how things work where you live, is it as simple as having to pay for Caller ID to be enabled on mobile networks?

Call your service provider and ask them to check whether caller ID is turned off on your boss' phone. At orange, if someone comes in with this problem, we usually call CS for them and get it enabled.
