If I wanna change my boot screen from the boring XP one to something more exciting, how do I do that?
Is it as simple as to use ResHacker, replace the bitmap in ntoskrnl.exe, save it and use Replacer to change the ntoskrnl.exe in system32 with the new one?

Install Windows XP SP2. Excited enough?

rolleyes.gif Sorry, I just find it dumb to replace those files. Especially since the most minor update to XP usually reverts them.

That and it only takes 30 seconds to watch the "Starting Windows" screen ... there is no need to change it.

When I come to think about it, I guess your right. Besides, itīs not even 30 sec. I think I am addictive to change everything in Windows right now, but maybe I leave the bootscreen alone.

I think its a cool idea. Sorry but I don't know how to do it... I remember I had changed my windows 98 one years ago. Forgot what I did it with though.

The pic must be 16 bits and the size must be 680.480..
Good luck!
