I installed FF 1.0 today. I uninstalled the PR version, and delted the Firefox directories in my program files, the Firefox folder in my Documents and Settings, and the Phoenix folder too. I wanted a clean install. It wasn't that clean, because all of my bookmarks and extensions were there, but that's cool.
When I click to try to view my extensions, nothing happens. My hourglass goes, something is happening, but eventually I get my cursor back and I can't view my extensions. I can see them if I try to uninstall them, but I can't view them normally.
I tried to install exrtensions, and I see the window, press install, but the extensions don't install.
So I thought I'd creat a new profile, so when I try to run firefox.exe -p firefox starts normally. It doesn't give me the option to create a new profile.
Oh, I'm running XP SP2.
Anybody know how to fix this?

OK this same thing happen to me in the past. In my case it was a theme I had installed and using when I uninstalled FireFox and reinstalled the newer version then it was still trying to use that theme, which evidently wasn't completely compatible with the newer version. What I did was went to my profile and deleted the theme so when FireFox restarted it defaulted back to the default theme. I had tried safe mode but it still wasn't able to display my extensions or themes. My themes was located here C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\whateverxxdefault\chrome I would give that a try. It worked for me.
Hey thanks! You're a life saver!

no problem, glad I could help
OK, I am having the same problem but I can't find the themes? I deleted them through the browser but that didn't work. Anywhere else they may be hiding?

Welcome to Neowin.. Have you tried making a new profile yet?
I can't even locate my profile! So that would be a no. Any idea where I could find it or how I go about making a new one?

its now -ProfileManager not -p, profile is here 'C:\Documents and Settings\$YourUserName$\Application Data\Mozilla' delete that folder and any others that are in Application data that refer to mozilla, firefox, phoniex or firebird
When I go into my \$Your User Name$\ folder there is not folder named Application Data. Is there any other way to fix the extension problem. Can I get rid of everything and start over?
