The link is a link with basic info - that is all

I prefer Adaware cause it constantly has updates on spy signatures
(spybot) never has

that is all

this was not a link nor was it a guide

Spy Sweeper is arguably the best one out there now.
Daylene
spysweeper is the best. Along with spyware blaster, I haven't gotten one piece of adware/spyware scum. Nice guide though smile.gif

Yeah, I've used Spy Sweeper it gets more spyware off than ad-aware does. Spyware Blaster I'm not sure of, I'm looking into getting 2.

Spybot + Spyware Blaster + Ad-aware + Firefox + Thunderbird keeps my computer clean enough for me.

hmm i like to use

spybot 1.3 - removing spyware
crapcleaner - to remove all cache temp and cookies from IE and firefox (good for making sure system maintanance)
firefox 1.0 - coz 98% of the spyware u are likley to get will come through using IE6(activeX, trojans and secruity issues) although i will probley get bashed for saying that.
regsupreme - good for cleaning up old reg keys, nasty reg keys and inmproving system boot performance imho
kaspersky anti-virus - for obvious reasons, coz its the fastest most best anti-virus-anti-spyware detecter and remover out there IMO.
Windows xp sp2 firewall - idiot pr00f, love it, although Kerio 2.x.x is amazing
a tweaked system is allways good, diabling a couple of services u jst will never need ever... improves performance and stability. also download java 5 now!
it is very important to install java coz it blocks some holes and fix some issues with IE that can be very ghey in the long run.

also IP and tracing secruity, go to these sites and read all information, especially if u do p2p, IP, HOSTS and privicavy is jst as important as spyware and virus prevention.

www.againsttcpa.com
IP hosts Blacklists

that should do it......or jst use mandrakelinux 10.1 smile.gif

Spywareblaster is a must. Prevents spyware from getting onto your system in the first place. Works hand in hand with Spybot. Also have Adaware and use Opera.

Not enough. Just do this test and see.

Install Ad-Aware SE with latest definitions file. You'll find some more.

Then install Spy Sweeper from Webroot and again it will find a few more.

Spy Sweeper is free for 30 days and remain active so for 30 days you'll know if you catch something.. if nothing then I guess you're a safe person like me who don't really go on weird site, etc. and download suspect freeware.
