I just installed fedora core 2, does anyone know where I can get a mp3 player for it and also get a good msn messenger protocol.

1) xmms, mplayer and more.
2) amsn, gaim and more.

This question is being asked far too frequently (and repetitively) lately.

Please use the "Equivalent Windows software in Linux" link on the main Open Source forum page. I have highlighted it below.

For xmms to play mp3's do: sudo yum install xmms-mp3

And for a linux IM I like GAIM more than the others smile.gif

I use Beep Media Player, much improved and currently under development, as apposed to XMMS.

Kopete is my IM of choice because I use KDE. Gaim is probably THE choice if you are running GNOME.

How about an update to that guide? Over a year old in computer land is like decades in the real world...
Firebird? That brings back memories.

It's not Neowin's guide. It's on another site.

I don't have the energy to update that information and maintain it here - especially as quickly as things change in the world of Open Source. It still offers a good start point, though.

At least it doesn't mention Caldera Linux! pinch.gif rofl.gif
