Will I have a performance drop capturing DV video (with no sound) directly to a 7200RPM 80gb USB 2.0 hard drive instead of my powerbook's internal 4200rpm 60gb drive?

i don't think so.. that's what im doing with my powerbook and external hd

Firewire would be better for video because it uses no cpu and it's bettter for constant transfers. However, i guess usb would be fine.
