Hello,
I have installed the latest Mandrake distro the 10.1. All works good, but i cant find the perfect messenger for LInux as good as trillian. I have tried Kopete, but we cant sign in offline, i have try Psy but same problem and not direct MSN support. I have some problems with Gaim too.
So i ask if you know what is the best and ultimate messenger software ?
Thanks a lot.

If you're just looking for good MSN support, try aMSN. Otherwise I think you pretty much covered all the multi-protocol clients (?).
Thanks for answering,
Yes i would like better have a multi protocol clients, if you know one.
koepate or whatever it's called for KDE it's okay... bloated like trillian

Everyone knows that gaim owns all.
Yes it is kopete. I have not seen that it enables offline sign in. I thinks i will use it, it is great. Thanks for your advise.

When i use to use Slackware (back on XP now) I use to use aMSN, was pretty cool....specially liked how u could see if u were on a contacts contact list...or if u messeged someone and they didnt reply an close their convo
yeah aMSN works good. some great features on it and works almost exactly like messenger 5 with new icos.

I suggest Gaim as well. I've tried a few messengers and this one is the only one that allowed every one of my accounts to work. When i tried that other messenger kopete, it did not accept my yahoo account. It would always say that i had an invalid password or user name. Im using Fadora core 3 and using Gaim and i cant complain at all. I would just say do what works for you.

Obviously something you have
heard and not speaking from personal experience.
Kopete is excellent for use with KDE, while GAIM would most likely be your choice if you are running Gnome.
Yes, finally i use kopete, it is better than Gaim for me withg KDE. Easy to use and it got a lot of features, perhaps not as much as gaim but enough for me.
