In case anyone is interested in turning their pc into a media center easily, I dug around and wrote a quick review on GeeXbox.

I came across GeeXboX last week and was intrigued. We've all heard of Windows Media Center, the OS based purely on playing movies, music, and watching TV. While there have been tutorials on how to create something just like that using Linux, GeeXboX makes all of that extremely easy. Well most of it anyway.

Take a look if you're interested

Thanks for the info. I'm going to try this out. It looks very promising.

It might be newsworthy on the main page, too (I already submitted the story). It's not only relevant for Linux users as it's a bootable cd and doesn't care what OS you are running.

I thought that the review was well done. smile.gif

Although I agree with you in that you would need a card with TV-Out to be able put this to practical use outside of the PC world. (also install to the hard drive, rather than run from CD, but the LiveCD aspect of it is cool for people wanting to compare to other offerings - MythTV, Freevo, MS Windows MCE, etc.)
