Thanks in advance,
Dan
You'd probably have better luck if this had been posted in one of the Windows software forums. Can someone move this?

Look up Camino Extra Prefs on Versiontracker.com or Macupdate.
It's a cool little program designed to use some hidden prefs in Camino.

No, but thanks for playing
Camino is already the fastest browser, a new update is what we all are waiting for

You could try an optimized build!
G4 >>
http://homepage.mac.com/krmathis/ (my compiles).
G5 >>
http://mbencher.ilnm.com/camino/Pick the one that matches your processor, you might find it a bit faster.
Camino is as fast if not faster than Safari and smashes Beats Firefox in Stablity.
Grab a nightly build off the server, you'll such a huge difference in rendering and UI performance. As for enably Pipelineing in Camino (I'm sure it's what your after) download
CEP and enable it from the preferance panel.
I was replying to a completely different thread about itunes...i can't fifnd the thread now. Not sure why it put it in this thread...never even rea this one

When I first got my iBook I tried Firefox and Camino and felt that they went slower than Safari.
Ill try out this build and see how that goes.
Edit: I am using it now and it run's about the same as Safari. I dont like the fact that there is no spell checker, other than that it look's very nice. I'm going to keep Safari as my main though.

@roadwarrior. Yeah, a ppc7400 build is what you want for your Mac.

ummm, i dunno why, but it randomly crashes, it is faster, but it crashes once in a while
I haven't had that problem.
So how do these builds work? How are they optimized for G4/G5s?
What nightly should I get? the "latest/" or "latest-0.8.2/"?

I just hope apple launch their own safari 1.3 soon, apparently it should come out in Dec, and it's based on safari 2.0 (which will appear in tiger).
I am using safari 1.3 preview, I didn't notice any change, but it really crash a lot, maybe because it's a preview version.

I'm using Safari 1.3 (v168) and it almost never crashes... The only problem is that gmail doesn't work.

Yeah Safari 1.3 won't do GMail and I have doubt it unstable as well. Camino 0.8.2 seems fine with everything for me
Well I'm back to Safari again, I hate the fact that Camino shows fav icons in the bookmarks bar, it won't show the entire picture when dragging them (only a Mac OS 9/ Win 98 like frame) and other gui like problems. Safari just looks better and less buggy to me

I wish I could make Safari aqua with a bookmars bar that's slightly darker than the toolbar just like Camino

Safari 1.3 has been very good to me. I can definitely see a difference between 1.2.x and 1.3, both in speed and site rendering.

Is 1.3 for Tiger only? I ran the update and I don't see anything for Safari.
I would love to use Camino, but the adblock extension keeps me sticking to firefox. I know there is something kind of similar for Camino in the extended prefs, but it just isn't as robust

on long pages like neowin, whenever i scroll in firefox it lags like a mother, i dunno how to fix it and because of that i use camino on my mac, but on my PC its perfect
