hey guys, just thought id let you all know that i just bought a superdrive 15" powerbook and an airport express base station. im loving it, its just so sexy and awesome.. OSX and the touch pad are rather strange but i think ill get used to them..
the only thing im having difficulty with is browsing my other computers that are connected to my DSL router (windows comps). anyone got any ideas..
right now im browsing wirelessly with the airport express and loving it... just wish i could get my movies and music from my PCs through the network.

its so cool to be part of the apple club..

followed that through and all it did was kill my internet lol

bear in mind that im using the airport express to do have wireless internet.. so the AE base station is connected to the router and the other two PCs are connected to the router directly..

Hrm I can see my Windows computer on my iBook but I can't access it, it seems password protected and the password I know I would have used doesn't work. I haven't enabled sharing or w/e yet so I'll explore that tonight. Damn I need to get a wireless network going >_<

worked out the network problem.. if anyone is having the same issues.. go to finder:go:connect to server then enter smb://ipaddressofcomputeryouwannaconnectto/sharename
worked perfectly for me.. no messing around with tcp/ip needed, atleast on the powerbook side of things.

i love this thing

Concerning the touchpad: When I used to use my 1.5Ghz PB's pad, I couldn't stand it and lugged a mini-mouse around with me as I migrated from couch to loveseat to bed to floor...etc. When I got my new 1.67Ghz model I saw that the two-finger scrolling thing was on it and at first I thought it was a gimmick. Boy was I wrong. Being able to scroll without reaching for the scroll bar is yummy.

I still use the minimouse when actually doing work in InDesign/Photoshop and such, but while lounging with the laptop on my lap (belly), the two-finger trackpad is great!

I have a love-hate relationship with that feature. There are times where it actually makes it harder for me to type (I am a diehard 2 finger typist) as it illuminates just enough to make it blend in with the lighness of the actual key. I need to sit down and actually make adjustments to it's light sensitivity one of these days.
