Full Version: Help Identify This Fish
My son caught this fish today but I have no idea what kind it is, any help is appreciated.
Some kinda Sunfish?
I don't know if it helps but this was caught in a fresh water creek in Texas....
where are you from and where did he catch it?
lake? sweet/salt-water? river? seems to be a kind of perch.
maybe it's the babelfish by altavista?

I made a second post with that information, it only occured to me to post that after my initial post.
Perch sounds closer than sun fish, but I'm no expert......

Looks like what I call a Bluegill aka Sunfish.
I'd say its a little big for a bluegill, but its definately some type of sunfish.

It looks like a sunfish or a crappie.

at least this one is sports related

its a white crappie, or a sac-a-lait if your from southern louisiana like me
