User friendy, just drag and drop. Original logonui.dll is at C:/WINDOWS/System32
But remember there is always risk involved.

If you are downloading modified logonui.exe files, I have been using Logon Screen Changer without any problems.
It does not display the whole logon in the preview window, just the background image, but when selected, at next logoff/logon or shutdown/restart, you will see the change.

I just replace the file in the Windows/System32 folder it works fine for me... just make sure you have the correct one for your version of windows
