So is this update good for users?
Such files as ddraw.dll and ddrawex.dll have different file sizes from the normal DirectX 9.0c which comes with SP1 + SP2.

these updates are not to directx, but rather to the directx sdk

Then shouldn't the DirectX 9.0c redestribution based files be the same?

Not The actual END USER runtime

I understand that. lol.
But it COMES with the end-user runtime, which has all the normal DirectX 9.0c files, but they are different sizes, etc. Which makes me believe it has been updated?

I didnt update anything DirectX Version wise.
Its just a Update with Updated DirectX for Managed Code for the SDK. The Runtime is the same version.
The installer installed nothing since it had nothing to update since I dont have the SDK installed.

the file sizes are different because they come in two flavors for programmers--debug and retail
that's probalby why your files sizes are different...that's why mine were
