How do I get my Suse to surf the net. I am logged on to a router but I can't get any internet connection.

If your router assigns your Linux box its ethernet info, then you should be able to browse without any problems. It's how I have my Fedora set up.

Does your router use DHCP? If so as mark said then you should just be able to browse.

Is it possible not to rely on DHCP because I would prefer to statically fix my ip address.

Yes, if you want to set up your subnet, gateway, DNS servers, etc.

It's a lot more work that way, though... unsure.gif

My router always assigns my computer the same IP. Have Linsys model # BEFW11S4 Wireless - B
