I have worked for quite awhile on this wallpaper. It was definitely inspired by Mother Earth, though it was also inspired by Longhorn.

In the ZIP you will find many resolutions, including:
Standard Resolutions:
1024x768 | 1280x1024 | 1280x960 | 1600x1200
Widescreen Resolutions:
1280x800 | 1440x900

I really hope that you enjoy using this wall as much as I have enjoyed creating it…
Other resolutions and background colors available by request at aero@wstaylor.net

Download the ZIP on the index @ http://www.wstaylor.net

Enjoy !!!

looks wierd.
wstaylor
yea... good illustration... it's supposed to be a lighting effect... like a glass object would have being set behind a bevel... maybe i will work on that a little more...
insanekiwi
only needs a little editing.
the glass effect is the red line. it is way too far towards the mdidle/inside. do it along the white line so you can hardly see it but notice it.

Very good wall, I like it.

It is rather busy, to be used as an actual wallpaper- but it is a rather nice working of gloss effects, etc. smile.gif

So, like this??? I was really going for a more button look than a globe look... like a flat button. But this will do... If you want this one in a different resolution, just email me, cuz im not gonna re-release it... aero@wstaylor.net

I'm more of a critique person then a praising person so don't take it the wrong way.
I don't like this wallpaper because...
I don't think it was necessary to add that gradient aura around the earth and the moon. I think that makes it look horrible. If you made earth and moon MAJOR PROPS If its just a cut-out and enhance... 4/10

Good work on your detailed critique... You are one of the few on about 20 websites who finds that this wallpaper looks horrible.

I would usually point out that the people who give harsh criticism are usually people that have no background in art or have any idea what it takes to create wallpapers...

There is no such thing as "cut and enhance" when it comes to quality wallpapers.

I am sure you would have rather had the Earth and Moon sit behind a bevel with light dropping on it and have absolutely no shadow or "aura" - but then again you didn't make the wallpaper.

Now, dont take this the wrong way... but what have you made lately?

Also, please share with the rest of the site what your credentials are for making such criticisms about wallpapers... I give your critique a 1/10 - thanks.

I'm giving you a honest opinion. I wish for critique on my stuff. Want to know why? You get to know a person REAL opinion, but when they give you a Nice or Hey I'm going to use your wallpaper doesn't tell you anything and leaves no room for improvement. Everything have there nice side but who needs the nice side when you can improve their skills by giving them a comment that means something.

I never said I made good wallpapers but through a persons eye is different from their hands.

Seems you just can't handle the judge.

"horrible" is not a constructive term...

What would you suggest that I do to improve the wallpaper?

Simply saying that you wouldnt put an aura around the earth and moon is not a comment that mean something... seems to me you dont give good criticism. But, thanks for the input smile.gif

Here you go.. is this what you mean?
FuLouZero
Heh, Horrible isn't contstructive -.- Wasn't really paying attention. Anyway I was in a ****y mood that day tongue.gif

Oh, when I said aura didnt mean that aura (shouldn't of used word aura) but it seems a bit cleaner though.
Anyway, I ment the gradient behind it it looks like a gourd (sp). Try changing it having it

1 bigger circle and 1 smaller circle together.
Weaker Black part of gradient
And some kind of matching border around it (Not Bevel)
I did have a remake of this untill later today. Had to restore the computer to ungodly amounts of spyware.Slowed it so bad it wouldn't even log on (even in safe-mode)
Maybe I can use getbackdata but I'm not really to worried wink.gif
Mx²
Quite nice IMO smile.gif
Hills420

The beveled part you are referring to is supposed to match that of the Longhorn IE Browser button... If you look into the idea of it, then you will see that it matches quite nicely.
