What is the purpose of your complaint?
Rob.Baker
That the world isn't revolving around him and that he's not getting his mod position on neowin becuase he posted something 2 days before neowin got aroudn to it.

that it is ridiculous that my comment was removed.

@ rob: barely. nice try though, talking about how someone else feels for them.

Why does it matter if you get credit or not? You act like the new posters deliberately looked over your post. They tend to get the news from their list of sources, not BPN. Next time, submit the news using the submission tool. Your complaining about it in the ocmments of the story added nothing to the story and therefore was removed by a staffer after being deemed worthless.

He's pouting in the corner that he didn't get credit for his bpn submission and that his comment on the front page got removed.

arg. it's not about getting credit. i want to know why the comment was removed... i don't care about getting credit, i know where the submit button is, i chose not to use it.
bangbang023
Well if you chose not to use it, then dont waste comments in the story yb linking to your post. All it does is open up a war of people poiking fun at the fact that someone is looking to get credit. The comment system is there in order to comment on the information contained in the news story.

if that's truly how bad neowin has gotten, than i seriously overestimated the maturity of the members here. 2-3 days is a lot of 'lag' in posting news - "new information about specific and timely events"...

and i also never knew the policy on moderators actions had gone from documented to "do whatever the hell you want". when a topic is moved, the person who moved it says "moved to..." or when a post is edited, the mod that edits it says "<snipped for blah blah blah>". the ony exception i've seen is when a thread is 'deleted', obviously you can't say "deleted bc...". but to know we've moved right to deleting things without notice proves a lot to me on the quality of moderation on this board.
bangbang023
and what was your point in posting a link to your thread? Seriously, what was the point? To point out it had been posted? Well, I covered that point already.

more that neowin needs to be a bit quicker about the news. when i read the newspaper, i don't see articles about events that happened 3 days ago. and while i'm not expecting neowin to be the first person to report on the information... 3 days is a looong time.

If you already knew about it, what does it matter if the news posters didn't find time in their busy lives in the take their time to post the story? It was the weekend, chill. People go out and have lives every now and then.

On behalf of myself and the rest of the News Staff, nay, Neowin as a whole, I can whole-heartedly say that we value your opinion of our operating procedures. Your comment has been noted and forwarded to all pertinent persons.

Thank you,
Neowin

i understand people have their own lives, but would you be a mod if you could not dedicate a serious amount of your time to this forum? maybe i don't truthfully understand how the news-submission process works, but i don't see it taking more than an hour a day to sort through all the news of the day and post the relevant articles...

and, thanks wishx.

Sorry, that one killed me. Carry on. smile.gif

The news I get from Neowin is usually almost instant with the current events.

i am sorry to have underestimated the workload on the news team then. i figured the submissions would show up on a neowin page with delete, edit, and "ok" buttons, you did what you needed to do, and *poof* it was on the front page.

I do know what I am blithering about. You're being a royale pain in the arse about a news item not being reported in a timely fashion. Well get over yourself!
bangbang023
no more need for this.
