Hey guys my new router/modem for our adsl line has suport for unpp is there anyway to disable it on a Windows 2003ent server with ISA 2004 stnd, also is there anyreason why even tho all ports are blocked, my torrent software on our client pc's is still uploading to the net when i dont want any ports open


PS the torrents is not for illegal data only things like new linux dist

UPnP isn't enabled by default in Windows Server 2003.
Are you using the Firewall client?

The UPnP service can be stopped and disabled through the services manager (but agenta says it's not even enabled by default, so this should be a moot point).

yes we are using firewall clients on the domain pcs

Test by disabling the Firewall client on a machine and see if the BitTorrent client can still upload. Why do you need to use the Firewall client? Do you have an application that requires it?

I was lead to belive that the firewall client protected the pcs and it also made it so no logins to the net are required

No, the Firewall client is only used to support applications and protocols that do not support proxies. For example you could use the Firewall client to allow a group of users to use Remote Desktop (RDP) outbound.

Unless you specifically require it, I don't see a need for it.
