Is there anything special to get NFSU2 to run on Server 2003?

I've followed the guide to enable HW acceleration and install DirectX9.0c and sound, etc. I've installed the game, and updated to 1.1, but when I double-click it, nothing happens.
Basically, I've got the kid up here at work today, and he's driving me nuts! I'm trying to get him something to play, but this is the only game I have here, and the only system I have avail is a 2003 server.
