I have a big problem when using the Remote Desktop Connection connect to Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition, it seem like I login to another user account everytime but I use the same user account as it's running in the W2k3 to connect...

I have some tasks that was running in Win2003 and I didn't want to sit and wait on the server, so I locked the server and then went back to my computer and remoted to the server using the same user account, the login was successfullly but I didn't see any tasks that I have started!

Have any suggestions to solve this problem? Please help me out.. Thank You very much!

When you connect to Windows Server 2003 using the administrative Remote Desktop Connection function, it always starts a new session regardless of whether the same account is already logged in.

So you're basically "logged in twice."

If you log in, open Task Manager (right-click on taskbar, click Task Manager), then go to the "Users" tab, you should be able to find your original session. Right-click on it and choose "Connect," and you'll takeover your previous session. You can then use task manager to force the newer session to log off, while you remain connected to the original one.

Hope this helps.

Start the client as:
%windir%\System32\mstsc.exe /console

This will connect you to the console session rather than spawning another.
