damn this iskin looks soo sexy...

is there a way toi modify the firmware like the apple hack for image changing because it could look a whole lot sexier without th default UI (which is gross) the player look prmising though.

someone developed a prog to edit the gui of the current H series players.. so once this baby gets onto the shelves- definatly people will create ways to change the gui.

hmm.. looks like another copy off of an creative zen micro... and u can get the zen micro as low as 224 bux... and it has replacable batterys, fm radio, 5 gigs, flash drive, all of the goodies..


One diff - that iriver has a color screen and the creative doesn't.

What is up with all these companies using vertical touch strips? I tried out the Zen Micro and it was horrible, I had to keep lifting my finger off and putting it back at the top so I could scroll down some more.

I like that more than the ipods scroll wheel my self.. the scroll wheel drives me bonkers... Its just my preference...

there was a guy at mistic river who said that bestbuy in america is planning to sell these things at 249 like the regular ipod mini price, people never understand that korean prices are inflated with taxes etc so doing a direct conversion in price is rediculous.

if i did a direct conversion of $299 for the 20gb iPod to aussie dollars it is a lot cheaper then the $499 we have to pay without student discount. never just convert prices they will only mislead you. unless you plan on buying it from korea then you will have to pay that much.

now this player is interesting but a 12 hr battery is with 128kbs mp3 and lcd off, which imo sucks. i was hoping for much more when i saw this.. i think i will be holding out to see if iPod can do soemthing decent with the 2nd generation of iPod minis that are meant to be 5gb.

i have been waiting for a decent colour competition cause i want a colour screen but cant affor $500 for the 20gb models i need something under $400 aussie. i have been following this product every day with all the information i can find. if it comes out at the same price as the mini i wont be getting it, not worth it when the H300 series, 4th Gen iPod and the Creative Zen Touch are all just a little more expensive and you get 20gb

IMO iRiver, like iPod with their 4th gen release, have screwed up. and with this model they arent going to make big inroads on iPod, but this is indeed superior to the current iPod.

the screen size is a problem, from the screenshots i've seen so far you just cant fit enough song name in.. its rediculous having that screen song. sure it works well for korean, japanese etc because the artist are 2 or 3 characters and the songs are the same so you get all the information you need on the screen but for those of us listening to english music you are going to have trouble finding your songs if you have a huge list of songs by one artist.

I agree. I prefer vertical, and the iRiver looks great and I bet it's great to use too!

It is out in Korea and at the equivalent of $344.... you made it misleading like it came out at that.... but its cheaper then the H320 in Korea whihc i jsut got mine here for $280. so it will around iPod mini prices ish when it comes out it seems.

i like the vertical pad much more than the ipod's circular pad.

i dont see you bitchin about using vertical scroll bars on IE or firefox or whatever browser you use.

well, the reason i don't like the h300 series is because for some reason it just looks bulky and bloated, if you know what i mean. it is quite heavy, and i don't care for the color screen and such. i really liked the practicality and simplicity of the h100 series, something like that would be the only thing i would consider to replace my ipod.

all i've found so far

They have this mp3 player at best buy. My local store has it for sale and you can also find it online. It starts (in the us) around $270. I messed with it and its about the same size and weight as a Ipod mini

of course it doesn't look as decent as the white ipods but their eqs and srs wow effect really convince me. i trust the firmware with movies (20GB). they signed skins factory to work on a wicked music player on pc. and its a pretty small player

are the 5gig and 20gig the same sizes? Like overall size and screen? The one I played with was almost exactly the same size as the ipod mini and I think thats too small to be able to view pics and movies on....

It looks damn sexy.... my iPod is about to be thrown away...

It's a bit bigger than competetors, but it's a lot thinner than Zen Micro, and who cares when it has color screen and detachable battery!!!

Also, you can use any fonts you want for the display.






Note that the top one is Zen Micro, H10 in the middle, and iPod mini on the bottom. One of them is certainly damn thick.
