Well, I decided to give MEPIS a try and am installing xfree86 4.4 on it.

Problem is, is this when doing the make command that is on the homepage of Xfree

Errors out like that quite a bit more until make errors out

What's going on?

BTW, I'm running SimplyMEPIS 2004.06

nvm, zlib wasn't installed and had to be downloaded and installed manually,
