What kind of a moron do you have to be to buy this thing over the internet.. for $30. You can probably find something like it at ****ing wallmart for $5.
But, could whoever is responsible for picking the ads on Neowin please kick the fine folks at SmartSpin sqaure in the nuts? Right in the goddamm macidamians. I really would apreciate it if someone would do that to them.

I haven't gotten any talking ads yet, but I have been getting some pop-ups 
Thankfully I use Firefox 99% of the time, so it doesn't really bother me.

Ive never had one ad with audio in my whole 6 years of using the internet.
I did get around 10 audio ads in my life... and one on neowin just yesterday. Annoying to say the least.
I havent even had one popup on neowin yet...
And three of the pcs i use dont have any sort of popup blockers.
Unless its spyware on your pc doing it.

I was actually just coming to this S&FI to make a thread about these ads.
It's the only type of ad that annoys me worse than Pop-ups. And I block Pop-ups.

We come here to read the articles and the news, not to be subjected to some idiot blathering on about storage containers. I suppose it's probably a nice fat cash cow for you, Neowin, but ask yourself how profitable it really is if it's gonna drive your readership away.

So you're saying that the admins here intentionally looked for the most annoying ads in order to make more money?
You're really a jackass. Read around a little bit more, and you will see different. I remember when here only used Google ads because of how frequent popups were.
Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if Neowin actually didn't make enough money to justify their server costs anyway.

I had a pop up on Neowin yesterday, but my pop up blocker stopped it. I have had them a few times in the past as well.
I've never had ads with sound on Neowin before. I use to get pop ups, but I think it might've been adware/spyware because after I ran a scan I never got them again.
Is anything going to be done about those kind of ads ? Wonder what mods have to say about this thread.

thats why i came here too... i understand that ads are integral for neowin running to minimize on costs, but do we have to have audio ads? i was listening to music pretty loud and couldnt figure out what was going on, because i know my songs dont try to sell me things.

I dont block ads from neowin to support them a bit since i cant become a subscriber
