I would say they are all good, but to find the right match for you, you gotta go to retails and try it by yourself. I love my Zen Micro by Creative.
The Zen Xtra is the older model, the Zen Touch is the newer better one.

I think the Zen Touch. The Zen Xtra seems to big to carry around everywhere. To me the unfeasibleness of not being able to put the Xtra in your pocket would rule it out. Depends on what you use it for I guess.

what kind of tiny pockets do you people have? I fit my Zen Xtra in my pockets. Sure it's too huge for some people but it has great value.
Zen touch out of the list.
It depends on how much you're willing to pay, and if the features that was lost in the transistion from the Xtra to Touch are important to you.
You should wait for CES to wrap up though. IMO, there are a few new DAPs might outclass the the Zen line of players.
Also, ever considered the iAudio M3?

Using it to store my music and to go jogging with.
So Zen Touch?

I wouldnt jog with a HD based player if I were you.

Damn sorry. My punctuation confused you there. I meant: Get the Zen Touch, out of the list.
Dont take it out but get that one from the list you provided.

I love my bootcut jeans. No way the Xtra would fit in there.

Yupyup, any kind of exercise that involves a lot of shaking and a HD based mp3 player don't go together.
For exercise beyond the gym (I wouldn't even use a HD mp3 player in the gym unless it's placed somewhere stationary), go with a flash based (solid state) mp3 player.

Yeah as sad as that is, even the 1gig models wouldnt work cuz those are still hd-based. Though just smaller. Your best bet is 512mb at the most.

I can always fast walk with the mp3 player & turn off the hd mp3 player while jogging right?
So Zen Touch?

what do you mean... have a HD player and a flash player and use the flash one while jogging?

Use the hd player while walking or speed walking but turn it off during when i jog so it doesnt get damaged.
Xtreme $niper
Jan 8 2005, 19:36
Yeah you could do that. But even when its off, if you put enough pressure into the hits, it will still cause damage.

what about jogging with ipod?
It has a 32mb buffer so it stores the song in the memory for nonskip and so it can turn off the hdd for battery saving. Same goes with the iRiver. I ran with my ipod in personal fitness last year...perfectly fine so far.

You CAN run with it, and it does do the buffer thing, but it eventually damages the disk. Regardless.

iRivers are very nice players... I think they are pretty up to date and definately up there with Creative. Don't consider the iPod, unless you are buying off of iTunes (which I think is insane, because I could just get a physical CD for those kinds of outrageous prices... nevermind the format and whatever Apples equivalent of DRM is...). I am probably a slight fan of the iPod's looks, but definately not that it's made and supported by Apple. That just makes it ten times worse.
Go with the Zen Touch, or consider an iRiver.

So Zen Touch while jogging is ok?
Monkeh
Jan 10 2005, 02:11
Jogging with any 2+ GB (I think they have 1GB solid state players now?) player isn't ok. You might not notice it, but a lot of shaking will eventually cause damage or destroy the hard drive.
It's a HD after all, no matter how much "anti-skip protection/buffer" (might be useful for CD or MD, but HD??? lolol), it's not suitable for exercise.
I'm not sure how their warranty works. Creative have stated that their Zen line isn't suitable for exercise, so if you break it while running, I doubt they won't replace it.
if you wanna train up and listen to music u better go with a flash player like other said.
take a look at this
---website--- these are reviews for flash players
hope this helps

http://reviews.cnet.com/JetAudio_iAudio_U2...ml?tag=topprodsSome guy said its a ripoff from another player, but this 1gig isnt bad.
I need something that stores like 500 to 1000 songs.
