I have been getting the MySQL error randomly from the start of the day, which was 11am PST for me... then a few minutes ago, there was the 5-6 min blackout... Good luck on fixing it.

Neowin blocks pings, and there is also two forms of DDOS protection in place at The Planet right now.

Just server problems it'll be cured soon no doubt.

Just MySQL server, they were probably restarting it or the likes.
