Full Version: Is It Possible to make Edits Move Posts Up?

I think we should implement this, because edits are always add content (unless you're fixing an error or erasing). Also, the edits that only remove or add not very much can be made not to make it go up, though that isn't as viable. I like to edit posts, instead of putting it at the bottom of that long thread where nobody would see...

I edit my posts but when you want to express yourself by quoting someone elses post, it's nice to "reply" or "quote" his reply. Edit is a good feature, but most people use it to correct or to prevent double posts.

EDIT: I do not think this would be a good feature smile.gif

Edit should be used to correct a post. If you have something new to say, make a new post.

The forum sorts threads by the posting time of the last post, not the last edited time. I don't even know if that's kept track of in the database...

Yeah it is. It's in the post table. You cant change it unless you have access to the database... You cant change the date of it tho. The var is something like Last edited on date(blaness)... wacko.gif

How would the database keep track of if it was a correction or content adding? I don't think its possible.

Overall not a good idea.
