I'm a newbie with video encoding, and I need help, here's the story. I use my ATI capture card and the ATI Multimedia Center to capture videos in "home theater" format (original AVI file I get: MPEG-4 640x480, 44.100 KHz 16 bit stereo).
For a few months now, I've been messing with the Xvid codec. I use the latest stable version of VirtualDub, the latest Xvid build, and the most recent version of the Fraunhofer MP3 codec. I use audio compression MPEG Layer-3 128 kBits/s 44.100 Hz stereo and video compression Xvid MPEG-4 Codec default settings. I also use video filters resize 512x384 precise bilenear and do some cropping.
No matter what I do, the audio always gets out of sync. When I do File > File Information, the audio and video times are never the same. I also tried saving the wav externally. I tried cutting the video, saving it with "direct stream copy," re-opening it and encoding it after that... I need to cut the commercials in the show and encode it in Xvid / MP3. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks a lot.
