Hi, I was just wondering, when I get my Mac mini next month, it will come pre-loaded with Mac OS X Panther. I was wondering if I can buy a cheaper upgrade when Tiger comes out or am I required to pay full price?

We will have to see what Apple says when they actually produce a release date. I'd hope so, but in the past it has been if you've bought a machine in the time since Apple announced a release date.
Say they announce the release date on March 1st. Machines bought on or after March 1st will get a cheaper upgrade to Tiger.
I hope they do this for anything bought on or after January 11th, since there are a lot of new Mac buyers who will not want to shell out an extra $129 for the latest OS after just buying their Mac mini.

That I bought my iBook in the middle of November I don't think I will be eligible for the cheap upgrade BUT I do have a student discount. How much could it possibly be then?
^ i bet you can probably get it for around $120

My school have been selling Panther license for $39 a piece. I hope they'll do the same thing for Tiger.
