0-60 in 8.6 seconds.. yeah yeah its not a race car. I wish I had a V6 one.
1/4 mile was in the mid 16's

Spoiler, 15 Inch Alloy Rims, Custom Gauges, Subwoofers, Aftermarket radio,
Nothing really special. Looking into getting a sunroof.

I had a 91 Cutlass but that turned into a rust bucket and had several problems.
I was without a car for about 4 months until April 8, 2003 when I got the Alero.

I am the proud owner of a Nissan Maxima. It's a black sedan and has excellent style points for exterior design. Driving feels very smooth, just got a new battery, it had the original in it; it's the 96' Model GXE. I need to realign the steering bar and probably should get an all around tune up as I haven't had one in about 2 years now. In regard to the power output: it should pump out a lot of horsepower since it wastes so much gas; probably the V6, I probably get less than 25mpg. My RPM meter is loose, need to have someone tighten it; sometimes the needle just shoots out of control - I know the motor isn't turning that fast.

Edit: Because I almost forgot to describe the interior. My interior consists of seats, they have a fabric, but it's not leather, so who cares what it is. The fuse box cover is loose, and once in a blue moon, it falls on my feet and has the opportunity to cause an accident if it ever gets behind my brake pedal. The sound system is composed of some electronic components, the speakers of which are Bose; a brand most people fear because they never post their specifications - However this is a decent speaker set, except the subwoofer sometimes sounds weird. My interior only has one cigarrette lighter port in the front, possibly one in the back. Bought a CD-R player radio, but should've grabbed one with mp3 support. The player is an Alpine; they told me it was good - it works. I got dual front airbags to kill me AND my girlfriend if I ever crash.

Finally, more things I should have put in the original first paragraph'ish/post. I have a sunroof, but I think something's stuck, because it won't open all the way, so i'll have to have that done. My hubcaps are so shiny they make my girlfriend say "bling bling" - they're all scratched up from parking in Chicago. Last, but not least; my car has a small dent/scratch on the rear passenger right side - I put it there by parking in my GARAGE! Got it during my first few months driving and am finally looking for quotes on fixing it.
That's IT!
Keys in my pocket, Dontt touch - I can lock it from here!

Lol, you ran into a bus dude. Bus has right of way, at least here in Chi-town they do - whatever they want - unless it's me driving; I wait until the bus decides what they wanna do before moving.

I guess it's not as funny as me running into my garage...but it's pretty funny whistle.gif

I don't currently have a pictures of it. May take some, if I get a chance and it isn't dark outside. It's stock, and one of the most surprising stock sleepers available. It's funny to have imports and Mustangs try and screw with me at stoplights.

Mine is ebony. The tires cost a fortune for it. It has an amp, 2 12" JL audio subs, and the windows are tinted.

It currently has a few battle wounds:
1. A car side-swiped me in the middle of the night, and my insurance wouldn't cover it, so I dodn't do anything to it yet, as I'm in the market for a new car.
2. A school bus rear-ended me when it was raining outside once. I got a nice settlement out of it that I put towards a down payment. So, here we are.

A picture under the hood that I found that looks like my engine:

It's only a V6 engine in it, so not too fast, but I can't complain, as I won this car. The day I got my license, I entered a raffle. Two weeks later, they rang me and told me I had $55,000AU to spend on any car I wanted, so my first car was a damn nice one. biggrin.gif

It's got a few scratches on it these days courtesy of pricks that can't park, or in the event of hitting a car, don't leave a note, so I'll have to fork out and get those things fixed soon...

found specs to my: Refer to my last useful thread for description of my car.

I am basing my specs here on http://www.autotrader.com.
It has a 190HP Standard engine, my GXE Model is at the bottom of the Nissan Maxima Lineup followed by a GLE then SE (in ascending order). I have DOHC, 190hp @ 5600 RPM, 205 ft-lbs @ 4000 RPM. According to another site, the SE Model can do 0-60 in lless than 7seconds my guesstimation for my GXE is less than 30seconds rofl.gif

And DUDE, Ford doesn't sell Ebony exterior autoMobiles; I went on their website! Dont you hate me!

First got it, the radiator leaked. Got it replaced, the second radiator was crap; leaked even more. Got a third one in, it was fine until one morning before school, it leaked all over. Last, and hopefully final radiator just recently put in, working fine. Got to drive it for two days before another problem occurred, this time the starter died.

I keep the interior well cleaned since I'm a clean freak, but I don't really bother about the outside. Nothing really fancy, no expensive sound system, nothing. Just a JVC deck and a pair of Audiobahn 6x9's.

Might add pictures if I get around to it.

I hate same thing you do. So do you really get 11/18 mpg? And i'm presuming you live in Kansas City, right? Because in the regular rural Kansas i'm more familiar with from House on the Prairie; That's a joke. I would see a problem with only 11/18 mpg. Unless you're taking into account the age of the vehicle, I would have to agree with the results i'm getting from AutoTrader that it was your misprint, and you meant 20/29 mpg.

* History : My brother and I both got one of these cars his was white my is black He dropped an SR20DET and put about 10 grand into his car. had about 300hp to the wheel. It recently for unknown reasons caught on fire and the fire department didn't try to spare his car any pain they used the jaws of life on his hood and when they got it open the flung it back smash his windshield in and cut his front bumper in half. Ill try and get a picture of his car so you can see what they did to it. Mine on the other hand I only paid 1500 dollars for because my step dad is friends with a used car dealer he sold it to me at cost to him. runs perfect and Im extremely happy with it. Not to mention it looks (and is alot more rare) better then a civic and blows most of them away except the minime and frankenstien ones. if you own a civic like that you know what I'm talking about. MY CAR STILL HANDLES BETTER THEN YOURS!!

(These pictures were taken in the spring by the way.)

Basically this is my first car. It was given to me by my dad in the summer when I got my license (07/17/2004). It runs great, it's in very good condition, and the fuel economy is really good. My dad had many options, he could have sold it, traded it in for cash towards his new car (2004 Malibu LT), but he gave it to me, and I am very thankful for that.

Just to give you guys an idea about the fuel economy, I've recorded some data in an excel table:

Fuel Economy

user posted image

Now you may be wondering, "Why is the price of gasoline so high?"

(Also the reason for my last MPG being so low is that I kind of shifted harder a few times at 5,000 RPMs, just to see what would happen. Plus driving short distances before the engine can warm up, driving up hills, and driving in the winter doesn't help one bit.)

user posted image

The engine in this specific Prizm model (LSi) takes 91 or greater. I didn't think you would believe me if I told you straight up, so I provided a picture. Well it would make sense since the compression ratio is 9.50.1; higher octane would be needed.

Octane

QUOTE
The octane rating of gasoline tells you how much the fuel can be compressed before it spontaneously ignites. When gas ignites by compression rather than because of the spark from the spark plug, it causes knocking in the engine. Knocking can damage an engine, so it is not something you want to have happening. Lower-octane gas (like "regular" 87-octane gasoline) can handle the least amount of compression before igniting.

The compression ratio of your engine determines the octane rating of the gas you must use in the car. One way to increase the horsepower of an engine of a given displacement is to increase its compression ratio. So a "high-performance engine" has a higher compression ratio and requires higher-octane fuel. The advantage of a high compression ratio is that it gives your engine a higher horsepower rating for a given engine weight -- that is what makes the engine "high performance." The disadvantage is that the gasoline for your engine costs more HowStuffWorks
