I picked up my new Mazda2 Sport yesterday. Haven't even had a chance to drive around in it properly yet but what I have done so far is superb. It replaces a 1.1l Peugeot 106.

My Mazda2 has a 1498cc 16v engine with 103bhp. It's got a whole load of gadgets in there; electric fold in mirrors, climate control, auto lights, auto wipers, Auxillary MP3 port, cruise control. It's pretty neat.

I just went out and took some pictures if anyone is interested. For the poster above, I think the Mazda2 looks better than the Mazda3, but that will be getting an updated look soon anyway.

Cheers Wildies, she is my baby, driven 120 miles in her now and boy is she fast, well, anything is compared to my old Peugeot 106, but yeah, 60mph in 2nd gear.... I should really be running the engine in!! No problems at all yet... well, maybe the automatic rain sensor could be a bit better, but I don't like to pick biggrin.gif

Going for a long country drive tomorrow to see some old mates. Looking forward to that.

I'm always curious to know why people just can't wait 1,000 miles to let the engine get run in properly rather than ruining it from day one! sad.gif

I did get carried away, I was a bit disappointed with myself afterwards.

That said, in the literature it doesn't say that running in the engine is important. For the next 400 miles I wil be taking it easy though. I've heard that its more harming to run your engine at a constant speed for a long period of time.
Couch Potato
Chicane, the running in is overrated nowadays. With modern diesels just make sure you don't exceed 3000 rpm and you're fine. We had an Audi A6 2.0 TDI here for a while and, rest assured, you won't even push it above 3000 rpm. The running in was something serious back then but nowadays, just take a little care and make sure your engine is warm before pulling any luncatic tricks.

OT: About 2 more months to go and I can pick up my new beauty.

with fuel prices the way they are , i should upload a picture before i loose the car biggrin.gif

I thought about it, but I'd rather put money into other things, like a spray in bed liner, chip it, maybe new exhaust, definitely remote start alarm system. I'm not much of an aesthetics guy when it comes to vehicles. It's going to get beat up when I get my house built and get a dirt bike. biggrin.gif

LOL yeah, there's that. I only commute about 6 miles a day, so I fill up once a month. $150 to fill up kind of sucks.

I have a 32 gallon tank. I'm looking into biodiesel, so hopefully, in the not too distant future, I'll be paying around $0.80-$1.50 per gallon.

Hmm I was looking at Cavaliers lately for a gas friendly car....I really like the look of yours, I've been looking at a pretty cheap one and I think I might buy since if I tint the windows and put some nicer rims like yours on it I think it would look rather nice.

Oh I see why I like yours, looks as though you have a body kit on it.

Thanks. The interior is Jade Gray, it's a Priority 1 option here in the States meaning the dealers can't order it for their lot. It can only be special requested. I think it looks amazing, and is pretty unique. My dealer hadn't ever ordered it before.

Not piano though. I would have liked to have gotten piano, but they don't sell that here in the States (what the hell?). I think I'm going to have it professionally painted black along with a variety of other parts that I'll have to bring to the paint shop.

I really like the contrast on the door panels. The Lemon interior has it also.

I had piano black in my E39, and it only looks slightly different. Piano black has a very nice sparkle to it.

I have just recently bought a BMW 318ci M Sport and am quite happy with it!

Got some leather conditioner on order to keep the seats in shape and also a new windscreen being fitted on Monday (stone chip)

The M tech suspension is great, handles sublimely around bends of any sort though I've not pushed it yet and DSC seems to handle sliding well smile.gif

E46 Sports coupe = best car shape ever!

Hopefully I will be able to start further modding once I start making good money again. It's been a reliable car for me, I did all the work on it myself, I tore apart the supercharger to replace a part, etc..

I wouldn't jump to conclusions there. One of my family members is very influential with in the design phases of many bmw's. It's an ugly car, we are all entitled to our own opinions. Think before you type, thanks.

i wouldn't call the 6 ugly, but i give it that "wtf is that?" look.

it took me forever to get used to the 5 series styling and they are sexy as hell now, just i would never drive one.

As of yesterday I've got my 2008 Audi S6 Avant. Pictures will be added shortly. At the moment I'm just enjoying the car to it's fullest.
