Well I have a 30+ thousand dollar setup and I don't own a digital camera for two reasons. I don't use a camera that much and secondly I don't tend to post pictures of myself or my own home. I'm a very private person.

yeah Squibbles, i would have thought that that setup wasn't likely a couple of days ago, but today i went around to a new friend of mines house and hes like 'yeah, thats my home theatre in there', and i go in, and he has this huge 5:1 setup (the size of that woofer pinch.gif), a roof mounted projector, this huge yamaha receiver, dvd player, cd player, xbox, and like a 100 dvds. so i fired up his xbox and played halo 2. hot damn, that was an experience. tongue.gif

edit: ^someone enjoys there Donkey Konga. tongue.gif

I only bought Donkey Konga today. tongue.gif

Hey deepfried is that a plasma ya have there. If that is a plasma be warned that those things burn-in pretty quick. Because I have an HD Tivo I tend to watch many Fox shows for a long period of time and that damn Fox13 logo is nicely annoying me on the right hand corner. So now when I watch CBS shows the CBS logo gets blocked out by the Fox logo burnt into my screen. The fox wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't on for 3/4 of the show and a dark blue color logo at that. I'm almost thinking about trashing that damn thing and getting a DLP set because that has been driving me nuts the last few days. It actually ruins the shows because my eyes can't stay away from it.

Yeah, it is a plasma television. I know how serious burn-ins are with these types of televisions but so far, nothing drastic has happened also. You can always burn-off the images though it may take quite a long time depending on how bad it is. I had a slight burn-in when I was using 4:3 mode for just a few minutes and that just vanished after a few seconds once I switched back to 16:9.

Woah, Nice thumbs_up.gif ohmy.gif
Snipe™
This is my current setup in my living room. All of the electronics were purchased while I was in college except for the component video selector. I plan on moving everything here except for a game console or two into my bedroom after I get married. Then I will purchse some bigger (at least 50" DLP or LCD) and better stuff for my living room.

I designed the entertainment center and my dad built it for me (for free!). It was built in four parts. The top, two sides, and the bottom. Each part is made with grooves so that it fits together perfectly. I designed it like this so it would be easy to move. I was going to make the top shelf smaller at first then decided to make it larger so it can store DVDs, picture frames, or larger speakers, etc...

Description:

1, 2 and 3 - Bose Cubes
4 - CD Cases
5 - Phillips DVD 724 (Progressive scan)
6 - HD Cable Box
7 - DVD Drawer - comes out all the way, stores 56 standard DVD cases
8 - Sony STR-DE597
9 - Toshiba 42H83
10 - XBOX
11 - PS2
12 - 8 input Component Video Selector w/ Optical Digital Audio & LAN
13 - Video game drawer - same as DVD Drawer
14 - GameCube
15 - Bose Bass Module - Acoustimass 6

EDIT: I use component video cables for DVD player, Cable Box, XBOX, PS2 & GameCube. I use monster cales for DVD & Cable and use factory cables for the game consoles. I also use Optical Digital Audio for PS2, XBOX, HD Cable Box; Coax Digital for DVD & regular cables for GameCube (which I think is the only option?). I only use the component video switcher for the game consoles. My Cable box has a DVI out, but it is not enabled. I hope to get a DVD player with DVI out at some point so I can finally use the DVI input on my TV.

Thanks, it was more impressive when I was in college. I did not have the entertainment center back then though. I had all that stuff in my bedroom laugh.gif

I was the only person I knew with an HDTV. My friends would come over and sit on my bedroom floor and/or bed to watch TV and play games. Those were the days cool.gif
SeaClearly
Hey snipe I'm really liking your entertainment center. Your pop does some very good work.

ok in picture is Sony plasma and Playstation 2 and Sky+ - sony is HDTV and i have components from PS2 and components for XBOX [which isnt in pic]...

xbox is below the table with an xvid player [which i dont use cause i have the xbox now!] anyways...

some sweet setups here...and yeah you gotta be super careful when watching stuff on the plasma...i feel asleep last night at like 2 am and woke up at 7am and left the damn thing on...LUCKYILY i left it on a channel which had stuff on all night...had it have been another channel i just would have woke up and cried...this thing is like 3 months old and cost me £4000...so you can tell how much i would have cried tongue.gif

also; you cant ACTUALLY return a plasma for burn-in its states this in the owner manual and on the warranty forms...this isnt something Sony [and i would assume all] cover for cause its not a manufacturing issue or error its simply someone leaving their TV with a static image.

also the dude with the Fox Logo...that really weird man - any logo on a TV show like MTV etc has never even slightly left an image artifact on my plasma...you have a ****ty plasma maybe? hmm.gif
HellasVagabond

crazihouse: I like that you have my pics on your PC in your pics lol biggrin.gif

Tiger.Girl: Once I get a new system I will post that then - unfortunately, that may be more than a year from now - ARGH! I am hoping to get at least a new TV before the new year or next Super Bowl, but I am not sure if that is going to happen. I will probably be spending a bunch of money when I move out of my apartment and into a house in June - can't wait!
