Wanted to know what kind of gps software you guys use, if you have any, in your cars.

Do you guys use preinstalled gps units, aftermarket gps units or do you guys run a pc and run gps software?

Im looking into gps software that will run off of a computer in the car, just havnt made a decision on what gps software is the best

I dont have one in the Car I use A-Z London, If I were to use one I would get the TomTomGo unit or get a Laptop GPS plug it into my laptop and use MS Autoroute 2005 biggrin.gif

seems like AutoRoute is only for UK. MS makes one for US called Streets and Trips, but as far as I know many people don't think its great compared to others out there.

TomTom got lots of good reviews but I think they only sell the whole units including hardware. Only wished they would sell a software version of their stuff

Try MS MapPoint... seen it in action before...it seems to be pretty good... lets just say i was the passenger and all i did was watch the GPS working...haha..it seems very precise also..meaning when we were at the corner it actually showed that on screen...

i hear tom tom is great, but as far as i can see from their website, they do not offer just the software. i already have a pc/screen setup in the car. if they sell the software could anyone point me out to it cuz i cant find it. is mapppoint any different then streets and trips?

one main feature im looknig is for voice signals, i want it to be able to tell me when im approaching a turn because i wont be looking at the screen all the time.
