Full Version: A Diamond is Not Forever

Ok this background stems from the fact that after a few billion years (out of the earth and thus pressure) diamonds revert to plain old boring carbon. So in keeping with my mocking attitude I built a background around the concept. Call me a nerd if you like, but I'll only revel in it.

The diamond was rendered in Lightwave with a quick stop to PS for the fonts and some touch-ups.
Hope you enjoy.

ugly, bulky, looks like something more personal than wallpaperish.

I'm certainly open to criticism but please keep it constructive. I can't learn from the degredation of my image. Now if you tell me what you would think would improve the bulkiness of the image then I would be most receptive.

uhm wow. the lightning is wrong. why is it only bright at the very top? redo the lightning completely. also remove the text. the font looks horrible

Why is it only bright at the top... um because that's where I had my light source? I can re-render it, but I'm confused as to what's wrong here exactly. So change the font you mean, yes? If I remove it completely it ends the reason for the image in the first place.
..Vector..
Yup, redo the font, i think it's the blur behind the ttext that's pulling it down hmm.gif

Quite cool, the wall is a bit, um okish, but that fact that they turn back into Carbon is quite cool smile.gif

I'd prefer a small shiney diamond in the middle, even better if you can get it on a white background, that will be gr8, nice and simple yet priceless.

it looks like a diamond only in shape, its more of a crystal.

yes add some refractive light on it or something. The text just takes away from the whole image. If you notice us Neo's are not fans of text
